Adidas doesn't have any kind of hockey gear or equipment, so it's natural that they wouldn't sponsor our hockey team. Reebok makes the jerseys for all of the NHL and has become the leader in hockey equipment (along with Nike/Bauer) in recent years. I think most of our teams are sponsored by adidas though. The hockey team may be the only one that isn't.

On a similar but unrelated note. I personally prefer Nike stuff...But I love that from what it looks like, Adidas has made us their premiere school kinda like Oregon to Nike but w/ a more traditional touch. I've heard many times that Nikes biggest priority is to sign ND once our Adidas contract is up. Dunno if its true but hey...a guy can dream ;)

Schools that contract with NIKE subsidize the Oregon athletic fund. He's donated over $300 million to Oregon Athletics and has donated academic buildings to Michigan and Miami.

Criticize his business practices and he cuts the money off:

In 2000, Oregon joined the Workers Rights' Consortium, which has heavily criticized Nike's labor practices. Knight withdrew his donation for the Autzen Stadium renovation. Then the university withdrew from the consortium. And then Knight pledged his money again.

Nike's Phil Knight has branded Oregon into national power - Michael Rosenberg - SI.com

lol wow...I guess Adidas aint so bad after all...at least our jerseys don't say "Russel Athletic" on them like Ga. Tech and Ohio I guess. I think Adidas's old school look fits us better anyway now that I really think about it. Not to mention I REALLY REALLY like the Tech-Fit Jerseys....They simply look better...

ND will be the premiere school for whatever brand the football team wears. The ND brand sells everywhere, not just regionally.

Also, keep in mind that Adidas and Reebok merged in early 2010 after Adidas bought all Reebok shares back in 2005. ND in Reebok gear is good for all parties here.

Wow..I'm learning a lot today. Not anything I'll ever need to know...but still glad I do now!!! I've heard that NIKE is taking over Reebok's NFL contract soon. Any truth to that?
