Oh I know they will still be damn tough, but this obviously helps the scum's chances...maybe from like 3% to 10% ?! Like I said they'll get a few more breaks before its all said and done...freak injuries, missed curfew, nat'l title hangover, blah blah -end up having an outside "shot" at winning...sickening.

'Bama is one of the few teams that truly just reloads every year.

I would disagree with this Whiskey... They have been good for what?? Four years?? Before that, they went through quite a down spell themselves... look at 2000-2007... nothing special...

so right now they are reloading, but three years does not make an 'every year' thing imo...

Their top 2 WRs-- Woods and Lee-- are returning. Since they only play 2 at a time, USC's passing attack should be even better next year.

Vegas disagrees with you.

How do you figure USC's passing attack should be improved this season? Kalil was their best guy on the line and he's gone. I bet that will directly effect Barkley's time in the pocket, he might have get sacked more often.

I never said Woods wasn't a good WR, he is easily top three material, if not the best receiver in the nation. Lee is average, not sure if he's even comparable to woods.

Woods is about all Barkley is going to have to throw too because Carswell graduated, Prater left, and butler left.

Ha! So what if Vegas disagrees with me? Vegas said Boise State was going to win the NC last season, so what's your point?

uhhh, Marqise Lee is not "average". He had an excellent freshman season (better than Robert Woods) and at the end of the season he was arguably out playing Woods. The other three wide outs were not big targets for Matt. Grimble and especially Telfer were more often used and are both sophomores.

As far as the o line, losing Kalil sucks but the rest of the line is returning and we're moving a former starter over to the left side. Player for player USC doesn't have a singular guy that is at Kalil's level, but overall the o line will be far better than it was last year (they will start off the season better as well).

Brandon Carswell and Brice Butler were still on Barkley's top 5 list of Wide outs for Completions and Yards. I'm Not saying they were one and two, obviously it was Woods and Lee for #1 and #2 but it's still a loss of somewhat valuable players.

IMO Kalil really commanded that line, he's going to be to really tough to replace. We'll just have to wait and see how his replacement performs.

First of all, welcome aboard, and sorry you had problems posting.

But dude, you couldn't be more wrong about USC's passing attack. And I'm trying to be nice here, really, but to call Marquise Lee 'average' means you're either really, really, really drunk, or you've never seen USC play, or you know nothing about football. Or you're probably just a huge Irish fan LOL.

Listen, that kid is nasty. All-American, future first round draft pick nasty. If you think he's average, then you must think every one of our receivers absolutely suck and should not be at ND at all.

Also, besides Lee and Woods, you're forgetting that they have 2 freshmen TE's that could be very excellent for them. With a veteran QB like Barkley, they already showed flashes of great potential last year. They'll probably add a stud freshman WR too that could help out, along with a couple guys already there that could help out in 3 WR sets.

So in short, yes, even without Kalil, their passing attack will be lethal next year, as long as they stay healthy.

Thanks for the greeting!

I said Lee was average compared to Woods, but damn I didn't think that many people we're going to take it that personally lol. My main argument when I first posted on this topic wasn't even about Lee, it was about USC in general being in the top three in this Way Too Early ESPN ranking. Somehow it got sidetracked to USC's WR Corps.

I do think all of our receivers suck besides Floyd (who is going into the Draft so count him out) and Eifert , Tyler Eifert is an all american TE that I can say we have now. I'm not going to base USC's pass attack this season completely off of predictions. USC may or may not get another stud WR, and these two freshmen TE'S are unproven.
