1. Why was his thread closed? Was there a poster pi$$ing match?

2. What is going on with him? I read on Rivals that he sent some HORRENDOUS tweets that made scUM drop their offer. Something about extremely disparaging remarks about women.

I dunno about the rest of you, but I read his tweets and I didn't think they were any worse than anything any other high schooler has/does/will say at that age. The only difference is most high schoolers don't have a national spotlight on them...

Yea i don't really have a problem with anything that he said. Probably isn't in his best interests to say stuff like that on the public forum that is twitter. But to each his own.

Was expecting something along the lines of Will Hill's twitter lol

A lot of comments were deleted, pro and con. Some were pretty critical. (understatement)

I think closing it was correct. Not to take either side but recruits do read these threads and some comments could influence a recruits thinking. We shouldn't say things that affect the recruiting process, that's Kelly's job to figure it out.

If we want to criticize, criticize Kelly, not specific to a recruit.

IMO

I'll post what I said to another poster in a PM:

You know this is a public site. You know that recruits frequent this site. You know that this topic can do nothing but hurt the situation. The staff makes the judgment call, not the fans. Whether you "accept" it or not, the staff will do what they think is best for the program. Do you really want to blow this completely out of proportion and create the subsequent twitter/facebook battle for a potential recruit?

While I understand that the content of his posts is pretty bad, and he should probably use a little more foresight given he's a top high school football recruit, I don't think it's proper to debate whether or not he's "ND material" based on random posts. Nor do I think your public opinion should influence the recruiting process. Due to the visibility of this site, it could do just that. Deontay Greenberry, Tee Shepard, and John Turner have atmittedly read their own threads on IE.

An 18 year old guy has a colorful way of saying he wants to get laid. Yuri Wright comes from a troubled home without much parental guidance. He was the only person with no family at the Army AA game. Cut him some slack and apply a little perspective before you start bashing an 18 year old.

Sorry, late to the party. Didn't realize his thread was cleaned up before I got to see it. Close/Nuke this one ASAP, and thanks for the clarification.

I would offer that it is not what was said, but the lack of maturity involved in tweeting it to the world. Certain things that are no big deal, between you and your friends, would be absolutely inappropriate to say to your mother. Maturity is knowing when and where you can say things. If a school places an emphasis on maturity (like ND), then it's perfectly understandable that they might pass on the kid. It doesn't make him a bad kid, it just makes him a risk. A risk that some schools might be uncomfortable taking.
