Win or Starting QB?

What were you rooting for in yesterday's game?

A. A win with Tommy Rees leading us down the field late in the 4th quarter if it would have likely solidified Rees as our starting QB next year

B. A loss in which Rees performs poorly enough that it becomes obvious that he won't be our starting QB next year.


Losing to Florida State cost us a chance of getting ranked this year and likely our chance of being in the preseason top 25 next year and maybe we lose a couple recruits because of it, but if it in any way ensured Tommy Rees won't set foot on the field next year than all was not lost.

Would never root against ND, no matter the time or situation. We could have won the game 14-9 yesterday and it still would have been evidence enough that Tommy Rees is not a good QB, and has little to no untapped potential.

Everett Golson for better or worse should be the QB of this team next year! Our QB play is dreadful! Both interceptions there weren't receivers within 5 yards of the ball! I would rather struggle next year and let Golson play than go through another year like this!

What??? In no way, not ever, will I hope that the team I have rooted for 40+ years will lose. Not ever. Wow...this is gonna be a long off season....

I will never root against this team, but that said as I left my house after Tommy Rees threw his last interception when we had the ball around their 35 to go to my friends house, I was cursing out his name the whole time. When I am in the student section next year and if he is the starter, I may have a heart attack. He is why we are 8-4. Just imagine if we had Clausen with this defense this year, rushing attack, and Michael Floyd. Oh. My. God. National Champions easily.

Please be Everett Golson next year, I can't handle Tommy Turnover losing anymore games for us.

I don't see how anybody that is a true fan of a team can root for that team to lose. I always want nd to win no matter who is playing qb.

It sounds really bad, but I understand what the original poster is talking about.

I was thinking on that last drive that Rees was going to lead ND to a win and probably be the starter going into next year. But not for a second was I hoping that he wouldn't throw a TD and win it. Also was not surprised when he threw another pick in the endzone.

This. Unfortunately, I have lost faith in Tommy. For me, my hopes are that Golson wins the job in Spring 2012. I can live with Hendrix, but I think Golson has something we need in a QB.
