Once again the QB debate will consume the offseason talk so i figure i may as well start with a post bowl game qb poll. Tommy looked awful, Hendrix looked average, and Golson has yet to take a snap. So now that the season is officially over, who do you think starts when ND plays in Ireland?

Damn you should have held off on this pole until at least after NSD. Don't you remember how boring it gets on here during offseason? lol. Oh well. I just don't want us having to have 10 why is chewbacka on the sidelines Like threads over the offseason. Lol

I picked Golson.

However, Andrew never had a fair shake. I'd like to see how he'll preform given actual first team reps, instead of 3rd string reps like he did most of this season.

Kelly spent a whole year driving to develop a capped QB, Tommy's ceiling is just not very high. He's a great kid, but not everyone is that "gifted".

I voted Golson, because.. er, well... look at his tape from high school.. Man, I want that kind of a play maker.

Anybody not named Tommy Rees!!!! I am done with him playing. I am happy with him in a red hat calling in the plays to Andrew or Everett. Rees has proved over, and over, and over he can't adapt to good defenses. 6 TDS and 13 TO's. Enough Said. He has regressed not improved. And that is unacceptable. Move on from Tommy.

The problem is that BK has mismanaged this, and Andrew has less than 3/4 of 1 game experience and Everett has zero.

Sorry, going with Rees has lead to this embarrassment. Rees has a weak arm, can't read defenses (2 pics in the red zone again should put a nail in the coffin here) or does the 6 tds and 13 ints really explain this. Oh, and he can't run to save his life. I am sure our Olineman can run faster and are more agile than Tommy. If we play Wake, Army, etc. Tommy is fine. But, a sniff of a good d. Game over. Let the defense and special teams win the game, because Tommy Can't Look at Michigan State the only good Team Tommy Beat. And it was D and special teams that won it. Otherwise Tommy is a turnover machine.

Everett or Andrew! And recruit another QB and put Tommy on the bench with a Red had and never ever let him take a snap again. He is a Matt lovecchio in spread offense.

As BGIF said, the best QB at Notre Dame is the one behind the starter.

I voted Hendrix, because I think he can run BK's offense to it's fullest potential

Golson may be great, but he has to learn the playbook

until i see Golson play a regular season game it's difficult to say which qb should start. For now I guess Hendrix (lesser of two evils). Rees has made major mistakes consistently in the redzone and i'm tired of seeing it.

The day Rees starts another game at ND will be the day I quit being a fan. I can't take it anymore.

Smart money is on a Hendrix/Golson combo with Hendrix starting the year as starter and Golson eventually taking over the reigns- whether it be later next season or to start 2013. Either way, this team has the potential for a great year in 2013 and that ALL hinges on QB development. The defense will be there and we're bringing in some studs at the skill positions, so I believe the ultimate x-factor will be QB play.

...and coaching. I'm not convinced this is an elite staff when it comes to actual game time decisions. I'm not saying ND should start over. I'm just simply saying that I'm tired of watching this team get out-coached.

1) The two QB system was a complete failure. If used properly (ie. using Hendrix when inside the 20 since Tommy loves to turn the ball over) that game may have had a different outcome. It just seemed that BK substituted the QBs at the worst time, every time he did it.

2) Why did the defense let off the gas in the second half? Was it a coaching call or did they just get worn out? ND was getting so much pressure on the QB in the first half that there is no reason to stop throughout the rest of the game. The result - FSU has enough successful drives to score points and take home the win. I can't really blame conditioning on these fourth quarter meltdowns. So is it mental toughness? Coaching?

3) This has to be the most undisciplined team I have ever watched play. QBs making bad decisions. WRs not running the right routes. RBs prancing around, afraid to hit a gap and run. Fumbles. Interceptions. Fourth quarter meltdowns. Terrible ST play. Missed FGs. DBs not turning their heads to see the ball. Personal foul penalties that are completely uncalled for. And the list could go on and on...

It starts with coaching and player accountability. I'm tired of BK talking about it. Just get it done.
