I know a lot of people don't consider tOSU a big competitor as far as recruiting goes but I have to think that his offense competes directly with ours and will now be going after the same recruits.

Thoughts?

he's going after odenigbo i'm sure of that...and that sucks for us!!! bottom line is ND has to win to get recruits and a win against fla. st in late december would go a loooonnnnggg way.

Good choice for OSU. Same for Urban. But now, it's personal. Not in an ugly way, but in a competitive way. When we play OSU, there will be an extra incentive to beat them.

It most definitely impacts our recruiting. Just look at all the '13 recruits that we are battling OSU for; Jalin Marshall, Jaylon Smith, Cam Burrows, Eli Woodard, Billy Price (OSU lock) and Tim Kimbrough could very easily all end up Buckeyes.

That is not even factoring in the Florida kids that will now have increased interest in O$U. He already pulled one commit away from Miami yesterday (Ricquan Southward) and he hasn't even taken the job yet.

he might do things cleaner by the book, but the criminal output will stay about the same.

and the ncaa will continue to turn a blind eye. i fully expect them to only give the buckeyes and light slap on the hand for their tatoo shenanigans.

I hope something else big happens in sports today. ESPN is the Urban Meyer network this morning.

i'm really worried about next year's class...was really looking like we could do some damage next year and now urban's on the scene, we'll find out how good our boys recruit for sure.

if we can hold onto this year's class and add a few more key pieces i'm not worried about next year.

Add Yuri Wright and Armani Reeves to the list of guys that like OSU now and would like to hear from them.

Why do people keep saying Ohio St. is his dream job? I could swear I heard him say Notre Dame was his dream job. Maybe I'm misinformed.

The NCAA doesn't have the kahoonas to really get a big name program for allegations. Look how long USC thumbed their nose at the NCAA and they only got a two year bowl ban, and lost some scholarships. Major, major violations with the cheater Carroll and Sark. And OSU makes too much money and the NCAA will lay down and do nothing against them. They just go after the small fishes and punish them hard.

Just sickening. And now Mr. ESPN took the job, ESPN will lean hard on the NCAA. Or they may not even have to, the NCAA knows that ESPN won't want anything to happen to them.

The former President of the Univesity of Washington is the newish NCAA President and he will crawl up into a little ball and let this pass.

Eh, whatever. I don't actually know many OSU fans so the Buckeyes don't really bother me. Whatever it takes to dethrone the SEC (and destroy Michigan, of course).

Him going to OSU will affect Michigan more than us IMO.

Probably, but it will also have a big effect on ND being the other big name school in the upper midwest. It sucks because recruits are going to flock to him like the pied piper and it will have an effect on Notre Dame recruiting. Like I said in another post, he wont get every recruit, but he will get a majority of the one's he wants.

That's because nothing major did happen...

They were still on probation from the basketball team crap. It should matter if its major or not. Freaking osu looks like they will be better off because of this crap.

He won a national title in 2008 with three of his own recruiting classes. Had a title caliber team in 2009 with four full classes.

Why do people keep saying Ohio St. is his dream job? I could swear I heard him say Notre Dame was his dream job. Maybe I'm misinformed.

He has three "dream jobs", which are ND, UM, and OSU. He had his chance to take the job here but was too lazy to turn the program around.

Him going to OSU will affect Michigan more than us IMO.

It still affects us in recruiting. Say goodbye to Jalin Marshall and Jaylon Smith.

Surprising but hopefully this will make some ND fans stop believing he is ever coming to South Bend!!!
