The 2011 regular season has ended and everyone including me feels some dissapointment. However, there are positives from this season. There are things that should excite us for the future and there are players who deserves thanks for their efforts.
I know that last night was difficult to watch, but there were some big positives to take away.
>>>>The biggest being that ND will have an ELITE defensive front in 2012 and 13. Those boys up front held up really well and they were on the field a long time and minus a couple key players.
>>>>We have more than one QB who can play next year. For all the bashing I have given to Tommy, he is still a servicable player. We also have Hendrix who is very athletic and we still have Golson who is learning.
>>>>We lost Jonas last week and that gave Theo a chance to get back to his natural position, RB. He was still a little hobbled with his hammy, but he looks really comfortable back there. Cierre and him could make a nice combo next season with some others like GAIII and Roberson mixing in.
>>>>Toma is player at slot WR. The kid reminds me of Joey Getherall. Just catches everything.
Positives from the Season.
>>>>ND showed that can be dominant against inferior teams again. It was not long ago that the Purdue's, AF's, Navy's and Maryland's would make us look average. We just stomped them form the get go.
>>>>Even in our 4 losses, you can see that ND had the ability to compete, we just make MISTAKES. We were never really outclassed like the Davie or Ty days. I remember the days of USC just humilating ND. Even with a bad first half, we were 3 yards from a tie game, but mistakes.
>>>>Youthful talent abounds. There are kids like Lynch, Tuitt, Nicklas, GAIII who all bring smiles for the future.
>>>>ND won some of those rivalry games we lost in the past, MSU and BC.

>>>>Michael Floyd. Thanks for coming back and playing every game and every play like it was your last. We will remember you forever at ND. Your leadership was symbolized on an INT last night. You chased down a guy from across the field to put a big hit on him. You could have just watched, but you were a difference maker.
>>>>Jonas Gray. Thanks for trully putting together an awesome season. You showed how a guy can transform himself. Every ND fans heart broke last week, but we are all praying for you to make a full recovery and succeed in the NFL.
>>>>Harrision Smith. Thanks for standing strong despite all the criticism you took for the last few years. Your effort has always been spectacular. Thanks for leading your senior class. Good Luck in the NFL.
>>>>Darius Fleming. A blue collar guy who just kept playing tough. Thanks.
>>>>Ethan and KLM. You are two great senior DL who played unselfish to help the youg guys. Ethan, I hope you get and NFL chance. KLM, we are glad to have you back next year to be a senior leader to our youth.
>>>>Gary Gray. You took lots of heat this year, but you stood tall and tackled everything that came your way.
>>>>Robert Blanton. I still remember Weis telling us how all you do is talk. Well, 4 years later you were backing it up with great plays. The NFL is calling you.
>>>>Dayne Crist. Thanks for maintaining class when you could have been a poison. You show how ND guys are all class. Good luck next year where ever you end up.
>>>>Manti Teo. Thanks for 3 great years and loads of highlights. ND would love to have you next year, but we all understand if the NFL comes calling. Thanks for coming all the way to South Bend.
>>>>Tyler Eiffert. The last guy to make the hard catch look easy at ND was named Shark. Well, you have brought the Shark catches back to South Bend. Thanks for all the great plays. I hope your back next year, but we will understand if you move to the NFL.
>>>>>The TEAM. Thanks to all the guys who make up our favorite team. We may scream and holler at you on Saturday's, but you are OUR team and we all thank you for the fun season.
