At this point, I want us to destroy BC. And looking forward to us playing (hopefully upsetting) Stanford.

Then, I want the highest ranked, hardest opponent we can possibly be offered. I want this team to play the best team available, no matter which Bowl, and no matter which team that happens to be.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Find of what it means to me haha.

I've been waiting for a topic to make this point so this is as close as I may get. Notre Dame needs to win these last 2 games period. This team has done well this year except for a let down against southern cal. Good progress from many and the defense is starting to do what its supposed to-dominate lesser opponents. If the program is to get to next level it needs a shot of adrenaline from a huge win against Stanford after holding court on BC. IMO if they dont then the program is still in big question. Its time here boys-we luv ya and support the guys- but its plainly time to turn it out. I understand Stanford is very good and Notre Dame is not Oregon slick but Notre Dame must find a way to beat Stanford. Power/guts/luck/great play calling/whatever it takes just win these last 2 games. The bowl after 2 wins will be very good ( no matter what bowl it is ) and once again all eyes will turn to South Bend Ind as a national icon is awakening. This program needs these next 2 games for recruiting/carry over/and just plain having the taste of success for next year and beyond. I see it no other way-now is the time!

I 130% agree. While I don't think the program will go off a cliff with a loss, unless I am missing something and we lose Weis-esqu by 40, I think a win against Stanford and in a bowl game will catapult ND back into prominence. The media will be spinning, and the hype around a LEGIT ND 10 win team will be swirling.

The time for "put up or shut up" is way overdue. I believe that if ND plays with heart, discipline, without intimidation, and tough they are more then capable of winning. They just can't shoot themselves, as they have in past big games. Time for someone to step up.

So who are we going to play in the Champs Sports Bowl? It's going to be one of these 6 teams...

Clemson
Virginia Tech
Virginia
Florida State
Georgia Tech
Wake Forest

It probably won't be Virginia Tech because even if they don't go to the BCS another bowl would pick them since Champs has the 3rd ACC pick.

I really hope it isn't Wake Forest. That would be boring to play them twice.

Also, a little off topic, but had Wake Forest not choked with a 2 TD lead against Clemson last week they'd be in the ACC Championship game.

Florida St. Like we've said a hundred times already. The matchup is too juicy. Really no history with the other teams.

With FSU losing to Virginia, I don think we will play FSU in the Champs Bowl. I see us playing Virginia more than anything. I think a sesond game against Wafe Forest is a possibility also

Keep in mind that bowl selection is based on choice and not ranking. FSU/ND is too irresistible to pass up.

Lets just hope the result is the same if we play WF again. We know any team should be fired up for a Bowl game but WF will be out for major revenge against us. We can still win though, Id love for us to start an impressive bowl winning streak to counter the losing streak we had.

I thought the team that finished 3rd in the ACC went to the Champs Bowl. Am I wrong?

It is the ACC 3rd place team. Not picking whoever u want. LOL

Sorry, you're not correct.

The bowl process is a selection process. The bowl gets the 3rd pick of ACC teams, NOT the 3rd place team. This isn't new, I'm not sure why that still confuses people.

I'm guessing if Clemson is in the running, they will be the pick over FSU. But I could live with either. Wake is doubtful, I don't think they have a big fanbase that would buy up a lot of tickets.
