Shockingly these polls disagree with you.
Abortion
Also just because someone has a different view then you doesn't mean that they have a warped view of morality.
The seconded bolded part fails miserably, are you sure you like the consitution? Even if you were right about the numbers (which I just proved you are wrong) the many can not take away the right of the few when it is protected (which Roe vs Wade decided).
A. If you take the time to re-read what I posted, you might discern that I did not say that because someone disagrees with me, they have a warped view of morality. I did say that the idea that the majority always defines moral correctness is a warped view. I thought my point was quite clear.
B. I am very aware of the concept that some rights are so fundamental that, under our constitutional system, they are removed from the democratic process. I am also aware that the real crux of constitutional scholarship over the past 50 years or so has been the debate concerning how to properly determine how to define which rights fit into that category. See, generally, originalist interpretation vs. "living constitution" theory. I also know that, several times, the Supreme Court has decided one way only to overturn itself later on. As I mentioned, maybe Dred Scott rings a bell? Or maybe Plessy v. Ferguson?
But, I am sure an eminent constitutional scholar such as yourself, at least when you learn to spell "constitution," that is, knows all of this.
C. Thank you for reminding me why I am a member here. Entertainment purposes only. Normally I can stay in that realm, and have a great time here. I made the mistake of being sucked into a serious conversation on this board, which really accomplishes nothing and does not generate laughter, so detracts from the only reason I am here. So, my mistake. I am sorry. You can have the rest of the floor on this subject. Here, anyway.
