Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Everyone must remember, all negotiations go thru Mayweather. The fight will be on his terms otherwise it won't happen at all because he is simply the bigger draw and the top fighter. When Mayweather negotiated with DeLa Hoya, it was on DeLa Hoya's terms. If Manny won't agree to Olympic style drug testing, the fight won't happen. Simple as that. If anyone is to blame it is Arum for bleeding every dollar he can out of Manny before he gets too old. IMO, Manny fights more Mayweather leftovers and gets his paydays. Then when he is about to retire, they fight and make a huge payday to retire on.

From what I'm hearing is Manny will agree to get the Olympic style drug testing just to fight Mayweather. I know from reading other things that you're a big Mayweather guy. I think Mayweather has a lot of problems with Manny if they fight. I'm not saying Manny will win but I believe he poses quite a few problems for Mayweather. I hope they fight, I really do. This is one PPV I will pay for and gladly pay for at that. If it doesn't happen May 5th or whatever like it is supposed to I won't buy it but if it does I'm definitely going to dish out the 100 bucks or whatever it will be to watch. Hopefully no BS like in Mayweathers last fight.

I may be the only guy here who has never purchased a PPV event but I would definitely pay $100 to see this fight.
Pacman in 10.

It’s not hard to see how/why Mayweather has avoided this fight.. Mayweather has the most talent of any boxer I've ever seen, but Manny is arguably the next best.

This fight would be the most EPIC fight in boxing history, and quite frankly needs to happen soon before boxing becomes completely irrelevant. The UFC has dominated boxing in the past few years, and without a top notch heavyweight, boxing will continue to deteriorate. If this fight doesn’t happen within the next year, it will NEVER happen.

BUT... This fight could change everything!! The payday from this fight would make every other fight look like pennies on the dollar. The PPV take would be the single biggest grossing event in ALL SPORTS. I am not talking about what the Super Bowl nets, cause all in all the Super Bowl crushes everything. But if you were to take straight gross profits from the tickets/PPV compared to any other events tickets/PPV, this fight would put it to shame.

As for the fight itself... It’s hard to see how Mayweather loses but if there is any boxer that could beat him, its Manny. My heart says Manny would win in the late rounds, but if I were betting, I would take Mayweather in a decision all day long. The dude is just too good to win more than 6 rounds.

Either way, JUST PLEAAAASSSSEEE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Earth to Mars: Boxing has been irrelevant for years. The absolute greed and cowardice of these boxers is disgusting. Its like watching yourself stick a gun in your mouth and not stopping yourself from pulling the trigger.

I know how most people feel, but Pacman isn't in the same class as Mayweather. I love Pacman, love his heart, love his game, but Mayweather is just too good.

I am a fan because I know what Mayweather has done. Most people buy into that act that he pulls on air just to build up his hater fans. I could care less what he does with his money or how he flaunts it. He is entertaining both in and out of the ring. He also makes veteran fighters look like it was their first day they ever boxed. Manny is a hell of a fighter, but I just don't see him touching Mayweather. I see Manny getting countered all day long.

I just wish this fight would happen so there would be no more debate. Anything can happen once they step in the ring.

I'm going to remain skeptical until I see something concrete. I would watch this boxing match, and I can't say that for any other. Boxing is going out and MMA is moving in. This could be the fight that gives boxing some much needed time in the limelight.

While MMA is growing in popularity, it is still pretty far behind boxing in terms of overall popularity. Compare the top grossing fights in UFC and Boxing as a barometer and it is not even close.

The largest fight in MMA history was Liddell/Ortiz which grossed $5,397,000. Now look at Mayweather/De La Hoya which was boxing's largest grossing fight and it generated $18,419,000. I don't know how much more MMA will get, but for now I think it still is pretty far behind boxing. Who knows though, MMA could ultimately surpass boxing.

In the sports world the only thing i like more than ND football is BOXING..hence the name "chief second"

Olympic style drug testing is a huge sham...olympic style drug testing is conducted year round over the course of YEARS leading up to the olympics. This "OSDT" would only be conducted over the eight weeks leading up to the fight.
Drug testing already exists in boxing. All testing is conducted by the boxing commissions and state of nevada (because the big fights including this one all happen in Vegas) and cheaters are caught all the time. And without getting into a technical debate...Pacquaio could be on HGH and this form of testing conducted like this would NEVER CATCH HIM. And mayweather himself is not above suspicion...

Mayweather asking Pacman to submit to his own testing was completely designed for Pacquiao to say no to the fight.
Imagine if ND only agreed to play Alabama in the NC only if Alabama agreed to have their players sit for a standardized test administered by Notre Dame to prove "they are academically eligible student athletes". It is THAT equally absurd to ask a superstar championship boxer to do this.

Nonetheless, Pacquiao has agreed to full and random blood testing leading up to the day of the fight, and in the locker room immediately after the fight.

Mayweather's next excuse is already lined up...he's already demanding all the money because he claims he's a bigger PPV draw (which is mostly untrue).
Both fighters are being guaranteed a minimum of $65million for the fight..and once PPV sales are totaled the number will come close to $100.

but as long as floyd's making $20m a fight beating bums...he won't risk his 0 against pacman.

Yes, it is. But the fact remains that Pacquiao struggled with a 38 yr old counterpuncher that Mayweather destroyed coming off a 2 yr retirement stent. Mayweather is stronger, faster, smarter and it begs the question if Pacquiao is even in the same class as him.
