Damn, only -8.5? I should have bet. I hope Stanford annihilates the Trojans.

1. USC's run defense is for real. Dion Bailey is just a really sound tackler and him settling in to LB has made a world of difference. You have to have athletes at LB in Kiffin Sr.'s defense and they're finally getting them in place.
2. I love Andrew Luck. Just so damn in control at all times.
3. This should be a good game.

Who was the RB who chose Standford over ND last year? Has he played this year?

No one? Amir Carlisle was a Stanford guy who went to USC. Remound Wright never got a ND offer and went to Stanford. Might be one of those guys?

In other news USC has already completely abandoned the run....

Yea, it was Carlisle. For some reason I thought he was condiering ND at one point and that there were rumblings he was going to come here. Cant remember exactly what was said in his thread.

I may be completely off base, but I dont think the Coliseum's stadium atmosphere is anything to brag about...Watching it on mute with music playing may not support my point, though.

Im sure NDinL.A. could shed some light on this though... L.A.?

Barkley just threw his first pick. Stanford a chance to get some momentum here...

Luck's getting a bit lucky with some of these throws....

If he were wearing a ND uniform, that last pass would have gone back for 6....

Just got severely annoyed. Thought the site crashed. Took about 2 mins to connect me, every other site worked.

just checked these out... thought it was pretty interesting considering their recent success...

Stanford recruting rankings since 2007 according to Rivals:
2007- not in top 50
2008- 50
2009- 20
2010- 26
2011- 22

Each of these offenses seems like they're right about to get rolling... and then they have a drop or a penalty or something.

USC playing good D. Luck needs to step up and run there on 3rd and 2... could've had the first easy. I have no idea how USC suddenly got good at pass defense... but their LBs are playing super well in coverage right now.

It could get loud...but it rarely does. Only for HUGE games. It can be quieter than ND Stadium by a mile when it's hot. I went to games in the glory days of Bush and Leinart and Williams and they'd be tearing teams up and if were above 85 degrees people would leave at halftime. A lot of people.

The Coli is just too damn spacious and big. And the students (esp the girls) are so plastered that for most games they are a non-factor. Now, for games like this, with Gameday there and a top 5 team there, then I'm sure the crowd is pretty loud. But when there aren't a ton of points being scored, it can get pretty quiet in there...

Right now USC is playing like they want to win and Stanford is playing like they don't want to lose. It's games like this where I think you miss Harbaugh. The truth is USC is aggressive and attacking and just barely coming up short due to some mistakes. Stanford, as soon as they commit a penalty, can't recover because of how conservative their playcalling is at the moment.

I think USC ends up winning this game.

So this being said and your post about USC's D somewhat coming out of no where and playing much better---which D would you take--right now to date--ND's or USC's?

Interesting. I mean I can tell the crowd is a bit riled up due to the camera shots, but kinda like youre saying, I dont think the stadium is intimidating. I felt the GA/FL game had a more intimidating atmosphere and that game is played on neurtral grounds/half-and-half for the most part...

With EJ/KLM healthy I'll take ND. As is? I don't know. Based on the first half probably USC. When their LBs aren't playing like total *** this defense actually defends the pass really well. I also think this JC transfer they have playing now at corner opposite Robey is way better than the guy they had before. Small sample size, of course.

Ok Luck looks like a cartoon character. He always has to me, but I can't remember the name. Anyone?
