I am not sure if it has been covered here yet, but I found this on another board. The Notre Dame Ushers will be handing out Blue Cards to people being "too Loud" at the Stadium. I hope this is a joke, I pray this is a horrible Joke. I can't tell you how sick this makes me at a College Football game in what should be the best atmosphere in the country. If Swarbrick has anything to do with this, he is a hypocrite.

ND Nation » Cheer, Cheer (but not too loud)

Is the University trying to lesson the home field advantage? This is the kind of thing that I would laugh about in other Stadiums. I am tired of taking first timers to a Notre Dame Game (From Texas) and them saying, " it was great, but I expected it to be louder and more exciting". THEY ARE RIGHT and I can no longer defend Notre Dame Stadium after Bush League crap like this.

If people are getting told to be tone it down at the USC game, it will make me sick to be a fan of this team. I really don't think it will happen for the USC game and I think Jack knows that and is ok with it. If you're not being obnoxious, not cussing, not starting fights, etc. there's no reason to keep it down.

I have a hard time believing that... Anyone who gets or has ever gotten a "blue card" should write a long letter to Father Jenkins and have whoever is responsible for that travesty fired. That's ridiculous.

I travel to a hand full of home games a year. It is quite a trip from Texas and If I have to worry about some Blue Card BS I will give my season tickets to a relative in Michigan and sit at home and watch the games on TV. I can get a better game atmosphere at Baylor these days. Makes me Sick, and I literally can't believe it.

Listening to Eric Hansen (SB Tribune beat writer) on their evening ND football radio show, and he did a sit down interview today with Jack Swarbrick. Jack said there will be more surprises at the game Saturday than just a new jersey. Once he publishes the story I will post the link.

Green out? Music? What other surprises could there be?

Well hopefully the student section will make up for any old folks sitting down and chilling out the entire game. Everybody I know is planning on getting s***faced (I'm not. Not that much of a drinker, and hopefully it's not visible to the point where they are denied entrance) by the time the game starts since it's an all-day tailgate so it should be a very rowdy one.

One of the guys I work with is an usher and I asked him about this. He said the only way you would be asked to settle down is if you are using profanity or out of control AKA S#!t Faced. Hoping that he doesn't kick me out because I have tickets in his section. GO IRISH!!!!

I know I am a young'n but i have been going to ND games for roughly 19 years now. I have never seen or heard of a "Blue Card" until reading this board. As far as the surprises I mentioned earlier. Eric was talking about something to do with the new sound system put in place, and as it is now confirmed the rally towels. The article should go out later tonight as it is supposed to be in tomorrow's paper.

Just opened my tickets with this message attached:

"Fans who are intoxicated or who are in possession of alcohol or who display disruptive and unruly behavior will be removed from the stadium. Original ticket holders will lose their ticket privileges for3 years. Please be considerate of these people!

People who leave the stadium will not be re-admitted. These rules will be strictly enforced and violators will be ejected from the stadium"

Define intoxicated...
