With his combination of off the charts tangibles, incredible highlight video, and baller name I think this kid just became my favorite QB recruit for the 2013 class.

Good high school players from Texas NEVER leave Texas. I don't know why any school from outside Texas even bothers to recruit that state.
Swoopes may very well stay in the state of Texas, but good lord, people-- Texans do frequently leave the state to play college football.

During the Davie years we used to recruit Texas pretty well. Lately not so much. Hopefully there won't be any more vacancies on our staff for a while, but, if there are, Kelly might think about hiring someone who has some connections/experience in Texas and can make inroads.

Like Tyrone Swoopes's high school coach.
Or seriously, someone who coached at and recruited for one of the major Texas schools, or a surrounding school like Okla. or Arkansas. Don't have anyone in mind but if there's someone with that background who would be a good fit, that would be awesome.
This discussion may be more immediately significant than I thought. Here's hoping we hang on to Alford (at this point I think we will).
