Why would he try to get under his skin though? The game was over and they are in different divisions. They will meet once every ~5 years?

Because Jim is so competitive...not making excuses for him (I do unfortunatley think he is a very good coach) however, once I watched the Real Sports piece on him I realized this guy would do anything to anyone to get a edge (regardless of division/# of times they play etc). Again its just an opinion...what say you.

Most Mgoblog people saying this confirms Hoke was the right man for the job (yea right) but some saying he was just excited and not to talk **** about a "Michigan man"

I still thank Jeebus that he didn't take the Michigan job.

Say what you want about Harbaugh, but the guy's a scary good coach. Really glad we won't be seeing on the opposite sideline any time soon.

He's made me F'n happy! First by not taking Michigan, then by coming to San Francisco. He's a great football coach and things have worked out pretty well for me. Go Irish! GO 49ers!

How can you call him a douche for celebrating after knocking of one of the two undefeated teams?

He yelled an obscenity after shaking hands, which is what pissed Schwartz off. He is a douche, plain and simple. I think we all already knew this.

He didn't shout in his face. He was pumped and yelled before they shook hands. He shook his hand and patted him on the back, maybe a little too hard, and the Lions coach got pissed because Jim was pumped. Who looks like more of a douche, the fired up coach who just won or the coach who lost and chased down the opposing head coach looking for a fight?

I would think that if someone shook your hand in that same manner you would feel similar to Schwartz. And it isn't like he ran him down and shoved him. I don't think he was looking for a fight... probably just felt what Harbaugh did was uncalled for and disrespectful. In my eyes, nothing would have happened if Harbaugh could have shown a little more respect to fellow coach.

Harbaugh is a rookie NFL coach and was very excited, Schwartz was pissed about the loss......and if you think about it, even if he would have won, he's still in F'n Detroit...He should be pissed everyday. Both were in the wrong. Done.

I would expect nothing less from someone who lives in San Francisco. Classy. I can't wait till the Lions play your b*tch coach again.

Got ya. Just didn't, and to some degree still don't, understand the lack of respect for a fellow coach

Harbaugh did absolutely nothing wrong. He was happy that they pulled the victory out and showed full emotion for it. Schwartz is a sore loser plain and simple, anyone that knows anything about his history would know that he is a jackass.

Well coaches never 'get into it'. I've never seen a coach get held back before. If it wasn't for a Karl Malone type box out on Schwartz it could have been interesting.

"That is totally on me," Harbaugh said. "I shook his hand too hard. I really went in and it was a strong, kind of a slap-grab handshake."

Doesnt mean that schwartz goes ape **** haha!

Harbaugh is a great coach. This isn't a big deal at all.

I'm sure none of you would care if Harbaugh went to Southwest Missouri A&M Tech and not Michigan.

Dude, calm down. lol Clearly you're a Lions fan and you're upset about losing.

It's really not even like that. I have grown pretty accustomed to my Lions losing. I just am shocked that people think that Harbaugh did nothing wrong and have therefore argued my case. I don't think I have been out of line in anyway. To me it just showed a lack of respect for a fellow professional.

I wish Schwartz would have taken the high road and not chased Harbaugh down, but he didn't.

And I do believe that him being a Michigan alum does contribute to my view, but I would hope I would feel the same way if he was from University of New Hampshire

Never said Harbaugh wasn't a good coach. He absolutely is. I'm still happy he isn't walking the sidelines at UofM.

In the end, Schwartz didn't take the high road, but he did respectfully shake Harbaugh's hand. poor loser? negative. douche? respectfully disagree

You can't act like you would be responding this way if the Lions had won. lol And I'm not going to argue about who was in the wrong because I still never saw anything, but I'm just saying calm down because now you're insulting a guy you don't even know on the internet. Why waste the time, eh?

Honestly this is a stupid issue, by two coaches who had momentary lapses in judgement.

BTW I never ever thought the 49ers would have a better record than the Irish after 6 games lol
