If you guys need your zombie fix before tomorrow night, you should check out the webisodes AMC has up on their site. It's an interesting background of the first zombie Rick sees.

This is a great show, very excited for it to start back up on Sunday. Got excited last week when I thought it was back on, let down I was.

I also like American Horror Story, which is surprisingly well put forth. I watch Sons of Anarchy also. These are the only shows I watch weekly. Football is a staple during this time of the year.

The little girl at the Gas Station or the hand of the zombie in the hospital.

The little girl at the gas station was actually very late in the series due to timeline, but the first the audience observed.

It was the most efficient "hook" I can recall in recent past...

It's neither of those. It is sort of a surprise ending. You just have to watch the webisodes. They are very cool. I can't wait for tomorrow. They are showing a season 1 marathon right before. Should be a great season.

I want to see what happened to Merle and whether or not we see the father and son that helped Rick in the first episode.

I can't believe I didn't get into this show until earlier this week.I've been watching it online.Wow this show has some tremendous acting and production value. It really is too bad they fired Darabont...hopefully that won't hurt the new season.

From what I have seen in the trailers and read about in blogs, they are staying pretty close to the original vision. We'll see. Glad you got in to it when you did. There are some moments in that first season that gave me chills.

The extended trailer they showed at Comic-Con is pretty intense. It should be fun season!

Sorry, I forgot about the hospital zombies. Let's just say one of the first Rick sees (I think it was one of the first in the series)

I was pretty disappointed that they fired Darabont, especially when Walking Dead makes AMC the most money. I love all of the AMC shows, even the Killing (I don't understand all the fuss about tying up loose ends in the 1st season - but then again, I was a huge fan of Lost), mainly because they're so well-written and well-acted. From what I've heard, they threw a huge amount of money at Matt Weiner (Mad Men director I think - great show by the way) and the rest of the shows' directors didn't see any significant pay increases. And now, there are rumors that AMC might start hosting reality shows and such.

If AMC starts doing reality crap, I will lose a ton of respect. They have some of the best shows on TV and they really take a lot of risks. Breaking Bad has made me yell out loud with some of the things they do. The end of this past episode was intense! Walking Dead, The Killing (I like that show a lot too), Mad Men was great. All those shows are so great and they **** me off when each episode is over. I don't understand the allure of all the "reality" crap. AMC shows right now are smart, rich with characters, and they really go outside the box with a lot of their stories.

Exactly. No other network has a lineup even close to AMC (except for maybe HBO). They'll be cheapening their value to host stupid reality shows. What they have now is great - mostly good movies and great shows. Unfortunately, some of the shows don't get the ratings they should, due to the guppy-like attention span of 80% of Americans.

Sorry if this has been answered, but is the first season on DVD yet? I saw you guys talking about this last year and have seen the previews for this season and really want to watch it. If the first season isn't on DVD yet will I be totally lost if I start watching now?

No. You won't be lost. But you'll be sorry you didn't catch-up.

Worse-case, watch episode #1, season #2 and catch-up the rest of the way...

Its a debate as to what happened with Darabont. Walking Dead is AMCs only singularly owned show. All the other shows have partners (IE Breaking Bad is with Sony). The producers were told to cut budget and Darabont wanted no part of it.

Here is the start of a Walking Dead marathon on AMC. The way you guys talked about the show is forcing me to watch this thing. I saw the first episode and maybe the second but that was all. I hope it's as good as you guys said, and I will want to watch tonight's premiere.

Just finished the first season a little earlier today...wow I'm impressed.Very excited for the new season in 90 minutes.

SPOILER Alert

I'm surprised by the Dr. at the end of the last episode. I thought he would try harder to work towards a cure, but gave up.That was a shock.
