honestly i hope michigan wins out this year, it would help our strength of schedule immensely, it would also make one hell of a match up for next year at ND. And lets be honest, CFB is better when ND and Michigan are better, some of the best games ever are top 5 ND vs UM games

Im just saying We wont kill them. They scored 11 on Alabama and we havent played anyone yet. I like our team but lets not start saying we kill anyone Texas and penn st.. We beat mich st at home and now we saying we kill Texas and Penn st. Triple option are tough to defend I know. You guys make a point and not like I don't love we are winning. Teams that would kill Penn st and texas also shutdown service teams.

I don't think we'd kill Texas, but we would kill Penn State on our worst day. I have watched a few of their games, they are ABSOLUTELY terrible. Look who Penn State has played. Temple, Indiana, Iowa, Indiana State, Eastern Michigan, and Alabama. That pretty much sums up Joe Paterno's coaching career, beating the crap out of lifeless programs to an inflated 800 whatever win total.

Our defense would key on Mcgloin all day, and cause him havoc. Think of what we did to Cousins, and multiply that by 10.

Notre Dame would hang 40 points on Penn State. They will lose 4 or 5 more games this season, they are absolutely the worst football team in the top 25 by a mile.

We would send our would-be visiting recruits into the game in the 4th quarter just so Penn St could look somewhat like a football team

I don't think you've met an adequate sample of scUM fans. I have no problem with, and fervently hope, that they never win a game again.

+1 They couldn't do anything against Temple either.

PS where do you think ND should be ranked and what do think our record will be at the end of the year?

I think ND will either go 8-4 or 9-3 depending on the Navy game. It depends what ND defense comes to play that day. ND should be ranked about #21 for right now since they've only had one really impressive win.

At this point, I hate to admit it's very plausible.

I will take the glass-half-full route, and predict 10-2 or 9-3.

8-4 is more realistic.

BTW, WTF is your fascination with an Irishman?

Have you the need for some Irish cream lad? Or is it debate with quality individuals? Quality wins minus luck perhaps? (Just throw it up DR.)

USC should be a 10+ win with no turnovers, AF>Navy, Wake Forest (Nuff said), BC sucks, Maryland is hard to tell they should be better then USC but still should be a pretty easy win, Stanford is most likely a loss.

We'll have a secret weapon at the Stanford game.

USC should be a comfortable win if we protect the football and contain Robert Woods.
Navy does not have the passing attack that Air Force does, and we (hopefully) should be able to load the box.
Wake Forest could be a tough one with the long trip to NC and the (probable) noon kickoff, but they have no running game and a questionable defense.
Maryland got curbstomped by Temple and has a horrible defense.
Boston College is absolutely awful and now that Montel Harris is out for the season they have very little hope for success.
Stanford will be very difficult.

Yes. There should be more Notre Dame fans in the stadium than Stanford fans.

=Total Chaos in the stadium....

Can you imagine these maniacs at the game trying to save the mascot and squatting on the midfield stripe because the game program was not produced on recycled paper? They can go around the stadium ripping the books and giving them names so as to give them a proper burial.

These people are terrifying.

I think ND beats USC by 21. Wake & BC= automatic wins. Maryland will be a game for a quarter (Did you see what TEMPLE did to them?). I'm still leaning toward Navy, the problem is, they haven't beaten anyone of note yet. But ND had a little trouble with that wacky-zany triple option yesterday so I'm not sure.

Navy almost beat South Carolina in Columbia, lost AFA by a point and creamed two cupcakes. Got crushed by Southern Miss yesterday, but for some reason Navy always comes to play against ND. It should be a good game. The more I see of Navy, the more my opinion on that game will change.

Destroy Texas and Penn St? Slowly step away from kool aid . We are 4-2 with three of our wins being
Pitt, Airforce and Purdue. We are winning and thats good but until we knock off U.S.C or Standford. Lets keep the destroy Texas And Penn St. talk in a low whisper . We havent done much this year yet except prove Mike Floyd And Manti our first round picks.

Can't say I disagree...I will say Pitt's running game can be scary...I think they'll beat west virginia. However, more troubling to me is the fact that South Florida was exposed (ironically by Pitt) in recent weeks, and Pitt got exposed by Rutgers...one of our close wins looks shoddy, and one of our losses looks worse. I take that as a healthy dose of humble pie until, as you say, we beat SC and Stanford.

If we are looking for how we compare to the top 25...I'm good with bagging on top 25 occupants who are near half through the season and MAYBE had one real game...but I can't really judge much of anything relative to big names like Texas and JoepaU...and where we fit...

I think Wake is more dangerous than any...FSU may be overrated, but Wake has real speed, and they will be up for ND...

I think everyone should stop under estimating Wake Forrest. That could be a tougher one than most think. They handled themselve pretty well against FSU (even though FSU is overrated)

Starting off the season with that total break down against SFU, then blowing it in the 4th Quarter against Denard & Michigan and having more TO's in the first three games than some teams will have all year, PITT shutting our offense down, AF running hog wild on our D......nobody, be it a Coach, Player, or Fan should be under estimating or over looking ANYONE we play. We can beat ANY of the teams left on our schedule, we've also proven we could lose to ANY of them. We have the train rolling, we need to keep feeding it coal.....there will be no coasting for us. GO IRISH!!

Our only chance against Stanford is to go in there rolling with a full head of steam. They can be beaten, and we can do it!

Honestly, nothing USF did the rest of the season would have changed my opinion about that loss. If they had won every game the rest of the way or lost every one, I'd still look at that loss as ND beating itself. They made so many mistakes in that game. Even more than the UM game.

What Michigan does the rest of the year I think could impact how people look at ND's loss to them, but the USF game was such a case of them beating themselves that I don't even think it matters to the pollsters what the Bulls do the rest of the way. And if it does, it shouldn't.

Texas and PSU are both horrible this year. Have you watched either of them play, or are you basing your statement on the past 10 years, or their long standing reputation as powerhouses? Penn St has no QB, no WRs and wouldnt score more than 10-14 pts against ND.

Texas 3 best offensive players are 2 true freshman and a Soph QB who is just OK, only Brown is truly a threat at this point in time...however their running scheme is a traditional power running game...something that would not fly against this ND defense. Texas defense is decent, but nowhere near the level they have played at during the last 5 years of so. I've watched them 4 times this season. They are not very good. Just got waxed by OU, barely beat a very bad BYU team earlier in the year, and their other wins haven't been very impressive. Their best win is over a mediocore Iowa St team who turned it over 3 times ugly in that game.

No kool-aid here. Thanks though.
