Yes, it's a good thing that we didn't ask him to throw a 20+ yard fade to TJ Jones, against Michigan State. NO WAY does Tommy Rees make that throw!!
Hendirx/Golsen/Crist- None of them could do any worse than what Tommy has given.

Well a win is surely better than a loss, but to find anything that was good about that game is damn near impossible. The only thing good about the drive to take the lead in the 4th was that the receivers making great plays to extend the drive. The TD pass was too late and we are lucky it wasn't knocked away or picked off. Luckily Eifert had go-go gadget legs to get up in the air for some of the passes too. Theo's catch was a TERRIBLE throw. If that pass was on the mark he would have easily gotten at least 10-15 more yards.
Tommy was terrible today. There is no excuse for his play. He is extremely lucky that he wasn't benched. People on here talking about how crappy Dayne is/was compared to Rees are flat out delusional. They are equally bad. Dayne will stutter drives with worm burners, but Rees will turn the ball over with terrible decisions.
This offense is plain jane vanilla with Tommy on the field, and the opponents are easily adjusting to any of our strong suits. I haven't seen a single deep ball all season. If the TE is streaking down the seam and goes to far, Tommy won't throw the ball (I have seen this happen at least 4 times) Tommy makes his mind up before he takes the snap and doesn't do a single check down.
And finally to everybody saying 6-1 for Tommy... Seriously? He's almost averaging 3 TO's a game this year. Saying that he just wins is utter BS. If he would'nt of caused the TO's to begin with he'd be 7-0 according to all of you guys. He has been lucky to benefit from a good defensive output that hides his terrible performances.

Yeah, that's really the most concerning takeaway from this game. Ignoring turnovers and what have you; it's just disturbing how plain this offense is with Tommy and how many throws he can't make. Quick release, accurate... not enough arm strength to push the pull down or across the field.
But barring injury it looks like Tommy is our guy for the next 8 games.
I didn't say it had anything due with his arm strenght. He is at his best when he is throwing short easier passes.
Crossing routes is what Rees needs you can't ask him to throw the ball more then 20 yards. He is a slant.crossing type QB.
Crist: 0-1 as a starter, this year.
Rees: 2-1 as a starter, this year.
Here's your sign............
I know what you said...... let me have the court reporter read it back to you:

I just feel bad for the defense that has to go through a full season shouldering the extra possessions, minutes, and pressure of playing with a QB who will average 2/3 TOs per game.
Crist and Rees played equal parts of the USF game. Why does the loss fall only on Crist, cause he started? Pretty shallow... And you're right, Rees deserves to claim this victory today almost as much as he can claim the win last year against USC. Just cause he is the starter doesn't mean he gets the "W".
He had a good drive that Eifert and Theo bailed him out on, and everybody wants to say it was so spectacular. We obviously don't watch the same games.. I don't drink though, so I am sure that plays a huge part.

Rees also has the luxury of 2 great RBs, the best WR in college football and one of the best TEs, and a veteran O-line, and Maine had nearly twice as many passing yards vs. Pitt as Rees had.
If Jonas would have held on to the ball are we even having this conversation. Its funny how Jonas got a second chance, Goodman keeps getting a chance, Gary/ fox keeping getting second chances but Crist doesn't for a mistake he couldn't control??? If you ask me i think Kelly just dosen't like him.
Last year, Mondo and Hughes, Floyd, and Kyle Rudolph... Que'?
i do believe that Crist was play good until he got hurt.

Fine by me... He's not his recruit and obviously doesn't fit his system.[/QUOT
Rees would not be starting for many other schools

Way to skirt the post... Tomas is just fine. But you, based on your posts are completely loco.

With Crist, we put up 30+ points 5 of the 9 last year's season.
With Rees, we've put up 30+ in 2 of the 7 starts he's had (if you include last regular season).
And Tommy does???
4-5.... Excellent call.
