not just that one play, I'm talking about the conservative play calling in general.. didn't really work out in the first two games, then this one could have been a whole lot closer if not for Blanton's great play.. the conservative play calling just makes me nervous because I think it makes the players feel like they're playing not to lose

How is an 18-point lead ( 3 possessions) with 3 minutes left where the opposing team has no timeouts not going for the throat? You go for it and miss and it's a 2 possession game.
It actually would take tremendous effort for a team to blow a lead like this right now. Im not saying ND wont make it interesting but by making that field goal the only way we lose is if everything goes completely wrong for us
