What are your honest expectations for the rest of the season?

Why do so many of you predict we beat Air Force but lose to Navy? Air Force has the much more powerful triple option attack this year since Dobbs is gone. If we beat AFA, we beat Navy.

If we lose to State, I think Kelly will start mixing in a lot more of the new players. Obviously, the season is over at that point, so why not let some of the younger players get some experience. Most importantly, bench Gray in favor of Lo or Bennett (I love RJ and his go-get-it attitude and swag), kick Ben Turk off of the team, let Hendrix take the snaps, and play some of the freshman wrs. If this doesn't happen, we're going to be even worse next year, as hard as that is to imagine.

Haha I took my nephew to the mall once and he had just seen the commercial so he kept singing the jingle (he was only 4) and my friends who were with me laughed and called him meowmix. It just popped into my head

I think we whould still have a shot at BCS. However IMO I dont think we should WANT a BCS game-- I dont think this team is ready mentally. again IMO!

i totally understand your point...i remember last year there was a debate over would it be good to send an immature team to a BCS game and get drilled or play in the Gator bowl and dominate...maybe a similar path as Florida St should be taken. this could be their year with their schedule outside of Oklahoma.

I'm sure you won't mind once ND beats State next weekend. I just have a gut feeling and usually my gut feeling is right when it comes to you guys (said you'd lose to Navy, but beat USC before the season started last year and was blasted on here)

nothing wrong with feeling that way buddy, unfortunately it's not in my dna, i hope your right...beginning of the year i would have loathed over a 8-4 record, now i'd be extatic.

Its good that so many have high expectations.....as for me, I have non. I don't expect them to win another f***ing game this year. The offense can't or won't hold on to the ball. How in the hell can someone not say that Tommy isn't or wasn't the problem? Hell, he alone accounted for 3 of the 4 TOs. If that had been Crist, people would have been screaming for his removal. I don't put the onus squarely on Tommy....the offensive playcalling is short yardage situations was just God awful. I'm not thinking very highly of Brian Kelly today, and not just for the playcalling. This team is one of the most ill prepared Irish teams I've ever seen. 9 damned TOs in the first 2 games. If Kelly can't get their heads out of their asses, then to me, he's the problem.

tommy was lucky enough to somewhat produce although he did hurt us drastically with his decision making in the first half...i won't accept he's still learning too much longer so that better get fixed quickly. i'll give the dude props for leading us down, although i said it out loud when we scored that "we left em too much time"

put in two tight ends and a full back and dont spread out the guys and shrink the edge for the guys blitzing to squeeze on the running back...and howabout the guys up front grow a pair and not get out physicaled at least one time.

That is what i am saying. We dominated the line of scrimmage. BK should of put in a BIG package and blast them off the ball. BK does not seem to learn from his mistakes (in the case anyway).

oh he learns from them...just not until the week after...at this level adjustments need to be made during the game not after.

I just don't see getting short yardage out of the spread. THe D knows we need 1 or 2....if we are going to run short yardage out of the spread then fake it and throw it over top.

For Short yardage between the 20's I would do this. TJ and Theo to the field side, Floyd to the boundary with Rees in shotgun with Wood besides him. You have three options from here. If the D stacks the box, you read the corners and either throw a quick pass to Theo (if they look to be playing zone), throw a go or fade to Floyd if they stack the box and look man to man(and you can have Eiffert run a quick slant as wel), or if they play a regular nickel you do a quick handoff to Wood.

Why get away from what we do best just because it is 3rd and 1. Just run your normal offense that was dominating them.

a little more consistency is needed right now, but you're right....they looked phenomenal the first two series, but penalties killed em up front again. one of those 3rd and shorts we didn't get could have been avoided had it not been for a penalty.
