This thread also had me wondering why ND never considered field turf over the traditional grass.............
Also, why hasnt this board ever addressed ND lowering their academic standards in order to expand the pool of recruits?
ACamp may have bleached his a-hole, but I'm about to bleach that little yellow tuft of hair on your head if you keep instigating stuff.
Honey mustard or ranch, McNugget?
Haha, Me--- Instigate?...........The tuft is green.

Real question is why there isn't a jumbotron yet.

Or the field turf....

eff that, i would rather see ND playing at holy cross's level than see the illiterate thugs that litter the SEC and Posu playing for ND...
Hello Irish fans. Just joined up on your football board. Always loved the Irish and the great Notre Dame football tradition! My one big objection is that Notre Dame should have joined the Big Ten when they had the chance several years ago. Why? Your school is located right in the heart of Big Ten country, reasonable travel distances for all sports programs and revenue sharing in the Big Ten is Tops in the Nation. I don't want to beat a dead horse with this post but let me hear it from the Notre Dame fans that know football.! Also, has Nebraska ever played Notre Dame in football? Just curious. Also, Go Gopers!! Thank you in advance for your responses. Randy Olson-Minneapolis,Minnesota.
It was sarcasm my man.
I won't rehash all the old arguments. Instead, here's a link if you're genuinely interested in why ND has not and probably will never join a conference, Randy.
Notre Dame Football: 10 Reasons Why the Irish Will Never Join the Big Ten*
The most compelling reason is that Notre Dame enjoys unparalleled national brand strength. Joining a conference would regionalize ND's brand, effectively destroying an incredible amount of value.
*I sincerely apologize for linking to BR. This article was written by Matt Mattare, who runs the ND blog We Never Graduate. He's worth reading.
Thanks for your responses. I take that all-around answer to be a big NO! Notre Dame wants to remain an independent. Nothing wrong with that. Go Gophers!!

Just going to throw this out there: I'm not convinced the OP was trying to insult Notre Dame with his initial post. I have very strong feelings about Notre Dame's independence, and obviously so do most ND fans and posters on this board. Still, if I went to another team's board looking for some feedback about how they thought of a certain issue, I would hope for a more helpful and tolerant response than the OP got here.
This is probably the best response in the thread:
because even if he didn't feel like getting into a discussion about the topic, he still gave the OP something in response to his question.
I thought it was pretty obvious the OP wasn't trolling and just legitimately wanted to know what people thought. I'm not sure why we got 3+ pages of people posting nonsense in response.

Gophers suck. UMD is better at every sport.
I'm not sure why you gotta play Mr. Mom here, chief...?

Huh?

Ha. Yeah, not sure, either. I guess I felt kinda bad picturing the kid hitting refresh looking for an answer to his question and just getting bombarded with responses alternating between people blasting him for having asked the question and indecipherable IE gibberish.
...hockey, which is the only sport that really matters in Minnesota.
Gotcha.
I'm American, not French-Canadian.
My fault.![]()
Yet you like soccer. Huh.
