Couple things

2.) Sonic is a gimmick, and horrible food.... In N Out just hasn't changed since forever... and has great food.

Their mozzarella sticks are awesome and they are the only fast food chain to do a proper vanilla Coke. Not the greatest fast food, but I prefer them much more than Taco hell

ha, I have a niece who is seriously picky about her food but loves TB... she's actually visiting next week so I am sure I'll be getting more than my fill of T hell... lol

my wife's family likes Sonic across the board... so I have given it many chances...

two things kill sonic for my personal tastes...

1.) I do not drink carbonated drinks much at all or enjoy them... every dang drink they have is carbonated, even the lemonade/limeade stuff... ugh

2.) I like my food at least warm... Sonic and Wendy's are both horrible at this, please melt the cheese and warm up the bun... at least

This is very funny....

If I was to pick my top 2 it would be INandOUT and LotaBurger. InandOUT wins since I have it so rarely...only when i get to Las Vegas, or Thousand Oaks.

I haven't seen anyone talk about it but an In-N-Out bruger just opened up in Arlington and the first day it was open, just to get into the parking lot cars were backed up for a good mile or more. I don't care how good the food is I could never wait in a line that long just for a fast food burger.

I still haven't tried it yet, but I want to one day just so I can give a good critique.

I agree here... growing up there was one InNout around and it was always PACKED... so my family hardly ever went... we have four in town now and some days they are still wrapped around the parking lot... screw that.

I love In N Out, even cold, lol. A ticket to our spring game for $10 included a combo served lukewarm....loved those huge white trucks parked at the Coliseum.

You should be a good uncle and introduce her to the wonders of the Socal taco truck. Just lie to her and tell her its Taco bell but served out of a greasy truck. Carne asada burrito :drool:

yep, she says she loves Mexican food but she grew up on a military base in japan so her idea of Mexican food is bascially Taco bell... I blame her parents though, as they are both Mexicans... lol

anyway, I fully intend on introducing her to BOMB carne asada burritos while she is here

Freaking child abuse.

I would punch a puppy in the face for a double double or a cheese and carne asada laden burrito right now....all I have is left over beef stroganoff for lunch....weak sauce. :(

Burritos are too personal a food (too many good burrito trucks and private restaurants), and way too varied. First, you have to set the ground rules. I consider a burrito to be stuff wrapped by a flower tortilla, and tacos or flautas wrapped with corn tortillas. I guess I'll go first and say the Taco Bell Supreme burrito is my top choice, next to the simple bean, as far as fast food goes.

Lobo, I watched the Man vs. Food marathon last night. Did not know whether to get hungry, or puke. The guy is going to kill himself. I also like Bizarre Foods, and Diners Drive Ins and Dives.

Do you ever watch Man Vs. fOOD? They had a episode this week...and they featured a Travis....OMG...HUGE!

My wife and I love triple D and Man V food...

my dad swears he could do most of the challenges... I know I can do some of the heat ones... but some of the volume ones (like the burrito in Vegas or the steak salsa and fries one in Puerto Rico) are just impossible...

Bambi- I can eat...however, when I see the shear amount of food and watch them eat it...I too get a little sick and want to puke. Reminds me when i was in college and went to Pancho's all you can eat mexican resturant (the one with the flag you raise for more food) with some of to O-line 380, 340, and 300 lbs guys. Well at the end of that meal I wanted to puke. So much for a 170 DB trying to keep up. =P

I cannot wait to go home for vacation and dive into a bath of green chile.

Straight up Scooge McDuck money bin style... yesir.

There is a place called Panchos ( I pronoune it Pan-chose to get under my mother in laws skin... lol) across from the local DMV here in town... UN REAL carne asada tacos... oddly enough they screw up their burritos in comparrison... funny how places can do that.

I noticed that too, WTF Neutered???

Well, I guess you didn't read my post. I stipulated as far as "fast food" burritos, I would choose the supreme. I can't think of any other fast food burritos. Otherwise, I don't think any of you have ever had my mother's burritos, or Chuy's chile colorado burritos from Juarez.

Do Pancho's restaurants still exist over there? Raise the flag to get more? Beans and rice?

I prefer Tex/New Mex burritos to anything Cali. Here in Cali, they stuff them with beans and rice, and the filling you choose, then fold it into a box. To this day, I have never been able to finish one by myself. But I pay about 7 or 8 bucks for it.

ah, burritos are pretty limited in terms of fast food though... nothing wrong with a Burr supreme under those circumstance, though I would go with a 59 cent green burrito with extra green sauce from Del Taco...

I was thinking more along the lines of ANY burger against any burrito... and I'd have to think on that one... actually no I wouldn't... I'll take a San Deigo Carne Asada burrito over even the best burgers.

Pretty much just like that. Straight up gorging for five days.

It is strange how one place can do one thing fantastically, yet screw up something so simple.

Gotcha.

I haven't been to a Panchos in at least 12 years.

I tell them to hold all of that stuff or go easy on it since its just filler.

Would that be a rose wrap? A begonia blanket? A petunia package? A chrysanthemum cozy? A ... oh, never mind – enough is enough.

Oh snap. I didn't even think when I wrote it. Too funny. Besides that, I am usually asked in spanish if I want tortillas de harina or maiz. And since I don't bake, the word "flour" is almost a nonexistent word to me.

Veer, when I tell them to leave out the rice and beans, I get a smaller burrito, no extra meat, but they charge more.

Not a fast food chain, but a damn good burger joint in my 'hood. It's been on one of those foodie shows. An ND bud will be in town for business in a couple of days and we intend to wait in the long line to scarf a Jucy Lucy and fries.

Matt's Bar, Mpls, Mn.

Fear the Cheese!

I prefer mine with both fried and raw onions. Sweet and smokey. No ketchup/catsup, relish or mustard required. Nothin' but cheesy greasy beefy accompanied by crispy spuds.

The best burger in the world is the TurboBurger. I make them myself on my Weber Grill. Always Angus ground chuck, not ground beef. The beef is too lean. 10% fat. Too dry. Ground chuck is 20% fat. Nice and juicy.

The name comes from my stupid mental meanderings about Hollywood names. Specifically, like "Vin Diesel." Yeah, right. Think that's his real name? Hell, no. But, when the women hear that cool sounding name, more reason for them to swoon. Kind of like "Dash Riprock" on the old Beverly Hillbillies show.

Anyway, I started going by the name of "NankerTurbo" 'cause it sounds ultra-macho and cool, just to test my theory. Can this great sounding name transform me from a short, fat, graying, old man to a virile object of feminine desire? Short answer...No.

But, while I was off on this tangent, I perfected those burgers. Kids, between chomping and drooling, said I should open up a restaurant selling exclusively "TurboBurgers." Haven't done that, but I did go out and buy one those "ranch size" Weber charcoal kettle grills, and I can cook about 75 of those suckers on there at once.

The secret is the charcoal Weber grill, seasonings, and cooking by time. I'll kick the **** out of any burger in the world. And, if I live long enough, might run all these other lame-*** places out of business. Just need to get a bigger grill.

I cant find it in myself to be jealous of a place so thick with smog you can't see the mountains and the trash piled up on the side of the highway like a landfill....but that being said, In and Out Burgers are pretty good, but not the best. Baker's in CA has good burgers. But by far the BEST burgers you'll ever put in your mouth come from New Buffalo MI at a place called Reddamack's.
