According to the Fox Broadcast, Jorge went to Girardi and Cashman and pulled himself out of the lineup for tonight's game, and will talk to the media afterwards. He is having a rough season, and some are hinting it could be a possible retirement. If so, would be the end to a great career. He will be sorely missed. Wish him the absolute best.

It def looks like it could be. It will be pretty stomach wrenching to see another core player retire. Jorge Is a great family man and a great Yankee.

@PeterBotte:
Bill Madden reports Hal Steinbrenner has been in contact w/ Selig's office regarding recourse w/Posada for refusing to play.

"I'm in the lineup and the only way I'm coming out of hitting 9th is producing."--Jorge Posada pregame today.

It is interesting that they are contradicting each other now.

Yea, I hope this doesn't turn into some sort of organizational dispute. His wife just tweeted the back stiffness thing too.. also tweeting that "Jorge loves being a Yankee". I guess we'll see.

Jorge has every right to be disappointed, 5 time champ, one of the greatest offensive catchers of our life time. But he has to do what is best for the team. No way he retires with 13.1 milion left on the table.

There are very few who can become full time DH, Jorge's hands are damaged from all those years of catching, I dont think he is the type who can do it.

For the better of the Yankees and Jorge, trade him or release him, he cannot be a full time DH and be productive. And he also makes it hard to DH guys to give them a day off. I love Jorge and he deserves better.

Also Cashman is lieing I can tell, I am really starting to not like him, he seems to becoming a weasel.
