With no skin in this battle, I gotta say that Rutgers got royally screwed.

I have no idea whether Rutgers might have won, but they certainly deserved a crew of officials awake and aware at the end of the game rather than those jokers who were distracted and drooling over the rare roast beef and provolone on rye sandwiches (horseradish heaped on the side) awaiting them at their hotel 25 miles from the Garden. Accompanied by pints of Guinness and liters of Jameson, of course.

Shameful end to a good game.

The Big East Conference acknowledges that two separate officiating errors occurred at the conclusion of the St. John’s vs. Rutgers game," Big East commissioner John Marinatto said, referring to the travel and stepping out of bounds. "Both missed violations should have caused the game clock to stop and a change of possession to occur prior to the end of the game. Neither error is reviewable or correctable under NCAA rules."

Just a Q: When you voluntarily withdraw, what about the money? BE refs paid for whole tourney. Are you voluntarily taking a paid vacation?

I saw a clip of the travel and stepping on the side line with 1.7 seconds left. However, I just saw the clip of the Rutgers kid getting mugged with 10 seconds left. I understand a ref not wanting to bail a kid out, but the guy from Rutgers was totally hammered and the refs swallowed their whistle.
