What is your opinion of LeBron?

This part pissed me off of a couple seconds, but it got me thinking. Thats just it. Thats part of the reason why most of the people in northwest Ohio ares still upset about this. NE Ohio is so hungry for a Champion. And we are all tired of "The Drive," "The Fumble," "the '97 World Series Game 7," the '07 ALCS...need I go on. Now you can throw in "The Decision" into that group.

After getting kicked in the gents multiple times, all of NE Ohio is sick of it.

And for you to say that "Im not from Cleveland so I don't know what your feeling." is exactly what it is.

People who are expecting us to just get over this don't understand. I've never seen a Cleveland championship. Hell, my dad's never even seen a Cleveland championship. We try to convince ourselves that one day, before we die, we will see at least one. But it doesn't look good anymore now that LeBron left. All those oh-so-close, better-luck-next-year moments are a kick to the gonads every time, and they happen oh so often. Whenever one of our teams doesn't suck beyond measure, they fall just short of a championship, the playoffs, or whatever the seemingly reachable goal is that particular year. It's like a sick game. And we're sick of it.

We are always looking for something, no matter how unrealistic, to hang our hats on. So when LeBron said he understood everything we went through, the hometown phenom who would finally bring us to the promised land, we clinged to him, and we didn't let him go until July 8, 2010. LeBron said he understood the fumble, and the drive, the shot, etc. but he obviously didn't. Why else would he show up to an Indians home playoff game against the hated Yankees showing off his New York hat? And what makes it worse is that he played into this stupid obsession we have with our sports teams, and said from the time he quit in the playoffs to the time he announced where his talents would be going, that Cleveland was legitimately in the running and even a frontrunner to sign him. Bullsh*t. He knew where he was going years ago, and he didn't have the stones to tell anyone. He dragged it out for the publicity and then when it all was coming to an end, he didn't even have the balls to tell Dan Gilbert to his face or even make a quick phone call.

The fact that he purposefully led us into this heartbreak is why we hate him. It's not that he left. Granted, if he left I still wouldn't like him, or maybe even respect him, but I wouldn't hate him like I do now. He stabbed us in the back, and even gave it a catchy name to put down in the Cleveland history books.

The shot.
The drive.
The fumble.
The decision.

Listen, he has pride in his city. To each his own. Your stay here will be a short one if you continue to crack on where he lives. There are A LOT of great ND fans on here who live in Cleveland and love it there or take great pride in their hometown, and we will respect that. If you have a major problem with that, I suggest you find another site that allows that kind of b.s.

And if he banged on your city on this long thread and I missed it, same goes to him.

2 things, and I won't make another post on this thread or IE if I get booted for this.

1.) I can appreciate you being a mod and taking your job serious and I am not saying that you get off booting people off this site, but you can be somewhat trigger happy. Read through the threads, it was not malicious at first. Yes it turned ugly and for my part I do apologize. That being said, I like Irish Envy and if my stay here is short I promise not to jump out of my office window.

2.) I take serious offense to being called a "retard" as we are all a banana peel away. I have been involed with mentally handicap people since a young age, and my father (an ND grad) has spent his life helping them.

Quindi, con che io sono fuori, fare quello che devi fare!

If I was trigger happy I would have kicked you off or at least given you an infraction for the post in question, or several other posts when you first started here. I did neither. And I could honestly care less if you don't care about not posting here. Whatever your interest level, just ease off ripping a city in which several posters here (all great Irish fans) live or don't post anymore. Simple.

Who called you 'retard'? All the mods here have full-time jobs and it is impossible to read through every single post on every single thread, nor is it desirable. If we catch things we catch them, but it's impossible to catch everything. We didn't you just report the post to us so we could have done something about it, instead of going off on the guy's city (which he had no choice being raised in)?

I think Lebron was as clutch in the way he made his decision as he is in the final seconds of a game! HA! I do think a lot more went on behind the scenes and the owner showed his true colors publicly after Lebron left. ****ty situation if you ask me but the way Cleveland looks now without him, I don't blame Lebron for leaving. The way he went about it is going to hang with him forever.

SIDE NOTE: I am not a big NBA fan however, when I went to work in LA for a bit my favorite question to ask my customers was Kobe or Lebron? Made the days fly by! I was in South Central LA so they were always heated for that discussion.

Fair enough, in Bens defense he called me a "retard" after I started on Cleveland. In other news Charlie Sheen is hooked on drugs and hookers.
