I actually like the Perk for Green trade. Green is a player. But it could really hurt this year because we are now dependent on Shaq and Jermaine O'Neal's corpse at center.

The thing I don't get is trading Erden and Gody for nothing (a second round pick) to clear a roster spot. They better be planning to sign a real good vet with one of those spots. I know the focus here will be on Gody because of the ND connection, but I loved Erden. He was the best non-U.S. player at the World Championships last summer and we are real thin at center after the Perk trade. don't get that second deal.

The second deal was meant to target those players who will be bought out after the trade deadline, specifically Rip Hamilton and Troy Murphy. I have several friends who are massive Celtics fans who say that one if not both of them should be joining the C's shortly.

I love this trade for the Thunder, along with them getting Nazr Mohammed. They are going to be scary for teams in the postseason now that they added size up front. They had no one to guard Gasol and Bynum in that first round series against the Lakers last year and still gave them a hell of a fight. Watch out for the Thunder out West if Harden can pick up Green's scoring.

That is definitely the plan. But they also dumped Daniels, freeing up a roster spot. So they could have signed Rip and Murphy and still held onto Erden. I really like Erden. And to be honest, if they knew they could unload Daniels (who is hurt and will likely not see the floor again this season), they shouldn't have made the Erden/Gody deal at all and just signed Murphy. I have no use for Rip Hamilton at this point in his career. I'd rather have Gody and Erden than Hamilton.

I agree with you on Erden, but not Gody in regards to Hamilton. The C's are enamored with gaining more scoring, however. There are rumblings the final roster spot may be Rasheed coming back, but we'll see about that one.

Word is now that the final roster spot for the C's may be for Leon Powe, who was just waived by the Cav's. Would be a nice fit (again) for the C's.
