He's a center. His dad played for ND 20 years+ ago. Smart kid with offers from Vandy, NU, and USF.
He's 2 or 3 stars...I think 3.

i think preferred is ur guarenteed a roster spot. unlike tryin to walk on where it depends on skill. like nate montana i believe is a preferred walk on
Found another article on his committment. He had a good list of offers, glad to see ND still pulls in players that werent offered and just want to live out there dreams at ND. Link below.

I really liked that piece. If he works hit guts out and shows all the heart in the world in practices (which that piece seems to suggest) he could become a contributor even when he never sees the field. Let's just hope he combines it with enough talent to become the player he deserves to be with this kinda attitude. I'll be rooting for you son.
i think for a preferred walk on they also let you into the school even if you dont have the grades. because one of my friends got into cal as a prefered walk on and his grades were not that good. and cal you need a 4.0+
In Freeman's case, he had full rides to Duke, Harvard, and Northwestern among others, but chose to try to walk-on at ND since his father started on the Irish OL. Scout.com: Tom Freeman Profile
As far as Cal goes, 95% of their football players don't meet admission standards. Admissions: Who makes a habit of special admits? : Fanblogs College Football Blog
As far as ND goes, you have to meet admission standards, except for the 2 exceptions per year Charlie got.
