Did it seem that the Miami players talked a lot of poop, even when they were losing?

I guess the part that stuck out to me was that even though Miami was down 30 points, they were still talking to our players and coaches. I also noticed that when there was a play near their sideline, their bench took some cheap shots at our players. After the first touchdown, in the 4th quarter mind you, their QB Morris was taunting our bench!? Really?! I just feel that it was more important to them to try and taunt and draw attention to themselves then it was to play the game to win.

It was good to see that our players were poised enough to not take the bait. It just shows that we are the more disciplined team. Proud of our kids!

To me, that's a statement of respect to our defense. It's so good that scoring a TD is cause for celebration! Forget that Manti was out for at least one of those TD's!

it wasn't so much a celebration as much sticking out their chest, pointing to sections of the Miami crowd, doing the U signs with their hands... fans talking smack... it was more trash talk then respect I guess it what I am getting at... the vibe was as though the score were reversed...

but I suppose you could def. look at it as a compliment too... and we are just not used to that from anyone not named Brian Smith

I can't wait for 2012 in Chicago to kick their *** again. Especially Stephen Morris. He got ****y throwing two TD's against a prevent D and mostly second stringers. At least Hayseed showed him what's going to happen to him in 2012 when he laid him out.

Also, i hope Shane Spence is around in 2012 so Cave can knock his teeth out!

The Miami players could mouth off all they wanted..., the better team won the battle by playing much better football on the field and being more disciplined and prepared. The end result is that we won by a nice comfortable margin and we clearly kicked their teeth in. WAY TO GO IRISH!!

One nice thing that was said by the CBS crew (Vern) was that there were no excessive celebration penalties-meaning Notre Dame was showing some class because to that point Miami had nothing to celebrate. It was a backhanded compliment but one that made my smile like a jack@$$ eating briars-Yeh Vern thats the Irish- thats the way its done in South Bend.

I hate Miami with a passion. No class. I'm glad they got clown stomped. They were trying to put Rees on the side lines all game. Scumbags.

Well I can't speak for what happened at the game, but the commentators were cutting up on Miami BIG TIME. At one point before the half one guy said "Come on Miami it's not THAT cold out! PLAY SOME FOOTBALL!" I did see them lunging and yelling at our players they'd tackle.

I might be out of line with this, but...if my mother were killed in an auto accident, the last place I'd be is the Sun Bowl. I wonder why his family chose THAT date to hold the funeral? I feel very sorry for the kid, but wow, I wouldn't have been in that game.

After reading some of the responses, as well as the original post, in this thread, one question came to my mind:

You people had actually seen other Miami games, before this one, hadn't you?

None of this is anything new. I think most people have just forgotten how completely classless the Canes are, because they haven't been winning much, therefore they haven't been plastered all over SportsCenter or College Gameday Final.

They were talking crap the whole game. Time after time of getting their butts kicked, and they still talked crap. Like Morris the QB, he is a little punk. Our guys just didn't engage in in. THey just got back to work of kicking their butts.

They got owned and didn't know what else to do.

Go Irish, and the Irish fans took over El Paso!!!!!

Well....actually, the last time ND played Miami I was 8. So no, I don't remember that, I do, remember the FSU game in 93 though. :)

this is why randy shannon is no longer the coach in miami. this is why they brought someone in who they hope will teach the team discipline.

these young men are the children of the people who looked up to the original miami teams and that bs "swag" type of garbage. this is the way that they have been raised to act. what a retarded term.

michael floyd told them exactly what he needed to. it doesnt matter they dont grasp the point of the sport anyway.

My big problem was the Morris taunting, all the while danielson was cannonizing him as all world. I don't have a problem with some confidence, but to get in the face of H Smith after you got crushed was just stupid and childish. They lack discipline which has hurt their program, and this game did not change that fact.

Child, please! (Emphasis on child)

I wasn't talking about Miami vs. ND. "The U" has been trash talking every opponent they play, for decades. To those of us who are................um.............. "mature" enough to remember the days of leather helmets, this is just normal behavior from Miami.

After the first touchdown Morris threw, when he looked over at the sideline taunting and pointing at the u on his helmet, I thought it was dumb as hell when Danielson was saying he was telling the Irish he would see them in 2012 at Soldier Field, like they should be scared of him. He couldn't do anything when we were actually playing defense and not the prevent bull s**t. Miami is nothing but a bunch of thugs, always have been always will be it seems.
