Fantastic show. I'm a huge Romero fan, and zombie flic fan in general. I, like you hope that the series will be renewed.

Maybe they can pull out all the stops for the season finale. Should be interesting nonetheless.

Awesome show...so far! I just started watching last week and immediately
afterwards had to watch episode 1 on the AMC website. I found episode 2
on Amazon, but not sure if I want to drop $2.99 for one episode. Was
episode 2 worth it?

Well, it depends. If it is a toss up between having enough cash to watch a TV program or buy food, then no. However, if you want a good hour of entertainment, then H E L L yes its worth it! Episode 2 is as solid as the others. Plus, it sets up some story lines that came in during later episodes.

This show just keeps getting more and more interesting.

This last episode was great. I really like the addition of Noah Emmerich's character so far. The season finale will be great.

The debate about the human element and how the characters react in different situations is a lot of fun. For instance, I was very frustrated that Andrea didn't just put a bullet in her sister's head right away when it was obvious she would become a walker any time. My wife felt that it wouldn't be so easy to just pull the trigger. Maybe I could do it, maybe I couldn't. Tough call.

Is Merle going to reappear in the finale? Is the whole world overrun? Can't wait for Sunday!

I have to assume that since Noah Emmerich's character lost all of his fresh samples, that the group of new people he just let into the CDC are going to provide him with some fresher ones...they shouldn't have left Jim. I really think Noah is about to go crazy on these people and leave some big uncertainty in the season finale this week. This is only speculation on my part, but losing all of those samples and the timing of their arrival strongly points to something like this in my opinion.

I think Merle is going to show up again, as is the guy and his family who just went to Birmingham. Jim as well, I don't think Jim gets written out that quickly after he has a dream or vision to dig graves for the coming attack at the camp. It seems silly to include that and get people interested, to ultimately write him out by leaving him on the side of the road in the very next episode. He might turn out to be immune, and the guys go back to get him for samples for Noah's character, only to have his immunity create a problem, leading him to infect some of them for samples in his research. I'll stop now, I'm typing down everything I've been thinking and I'm rambling.

Great points! I think Noah's character is definitely going to cause some problems for the group. I am curious about Jim too. Seems a little odd they would make so much of his character only to have him drop out of sight almost as an afterthought. I also want the guy and his son that found Rick when he got out of the hospital to come back.

Each episode, I keep hoping they don't take the easy way out on some of these story lines and, so far, I haven't been disappointed.

From what I understand, this is a comic series as well, and the author has a lot of control over plot, so I think he should get a ton of credit--obviously for writing it, and then standing up and making sure they do a good television adaptation of his works; which they have thus far. I want to know what happens so bad, and I know I can just go get comics, but they've never been my thing so I guess I'll wait it out!

This is an awesome show, and I understand they only did the short first season to gauge interest, but I wish they would have had some more faith! The wait for Season 2 will be almost a whole year...not cool. No ‘Walking Dead’ Season 2 Until Fall 2011 - Screen Rant And the executive may axe the writers! Walking Dead Axes Writing Staff, Mulls Freelancers For Season 2 « Spinoff Online – Covering TV, Film and Entertainment News Daily If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I donno, I hope they don't screw it up and don't make us wait ten months for the next season.

Yeah, I've been staying away from the comics too and I like comics. I really want to see where the TV show goes. That is a bummer we have to wait until Fall of 2011. Also about the writers. I didn't know any of that. The long delay between seasons might be a tough thing to overcome. "Lost" really had a tough time getting momentum back after their long hiatus and other shows have had tough times getting their mojo back after long periods away from viewers.

I think AMC has some of the best shows on TV right now. I hope they keep this one going. Breaking Bad is another favorite of mine and they have kept that show solid for three seasons now. I could see this show sustaining for a number of seasons too.

Here's hoping it comes back next season solid as this (short) season has been.

Finale SUUUUUCCCKKKKKKED.

Seriously dissapointing

Really? What dissappointed you? I thought it left some plot lines open and gave some good background. I didn't think the episode was as good as the previous ones, but I thought it was still really good. I am bummed Noah Emmerich won't be on anymore, but I think he will still have some flashback scenes in the coming season.

I understand that the location for the second season has not been determined yet. Wondering if the group ventures out of the Atlanta area. Should be fun. I am still excited for the show.

It feels like they tried to answer all the loopholes in the last episode and rushed it. The only questions left unanswered is what was whispered but even that was not that interesting. It just felt botched. Left a bad taste in my mouth after a great season.

Eh... the finale showed how awful their situation was. It showed how people have no idea what the hell is going on, globally what's happening, and that they are doomed.

Set the tone for Season 2.

I can understand what you are saying. I really enjoyed the scenes where Shane was at the hospital with Rick and how he left him. That was pretty intense. Some of it felt rushed. I kept wondering about the grenade that Rick found in the tank.

My only gripe was when they were leaving the CDC. I surely would have gone through the dead soldiers that were there and tried to get more guns and ammo. Maybe even more grenades or a .50 cal! Instead they just drove off. In that scenario, you can't overlook resources that might be just laying around.

When does Merle come back? He has to show up again. Not sure if it will be in human or zombie form.

I was right there with you. Thought the time at the CDC would be much more in depth. Oh well. I am looking forward to season 2.

I thought the finale was good enough, except for the inaccurate depiction of a grenade, and the force of that blast almost breaking trees but not touching the car windows a few feet beyond. Call me crazy, but I hate that chit.

So where the F does season two go? Not much gas and I'm assuming not many supplies, since they had to get out of there quick.

In any event, I think they need to make for the coast. Probably not towards Savannah as that would be heavily populated, but also their best chance for supplies and a sweet boat w/ fuel which can serve as a relatively safe base. Another choice for the group to make I suppose. Then they can go from port to port grabbing fuel and food, while moving up the coast looking for others.

I thought I'd add some more thoughts even though my last set was grossly misguided.

According to the graphic novel... the following could happen:

Finding the gated community, living in it for a night before they realize the place is chock-full of zombies.

Finding the prison.

Not major spoliers. Trust me. But the CDC was never mentioned in the books.

The prison presents some very interesting plots!

I know they won't be going to France anytime soon. Personally I would have stayed in the building.. I mean why bother at this point.

Quitter...

Wabash: Well if the CDC was never mentioned in the graphic novels, and the author has enough creative control over the series, I suppose he isn't really worried about the locations as much as the evolution of the storyline being similar. Have you read the graphic novels? I don't want anymore spoilers, I'm just wondering.

Well the folks in the polar regions should be good... I'd go there. Only the brainstem is active. The heart and circulatory system fails to function. I also assume no temperature other than that from the chemical process creating heat from decomposition to be present.

So the zombies would freeze solid up there, and plenty of water. If you get cold, just throw a zombie on the fire. Oh and for fuel, how about harvesting the methane from rotting corpses?

nevermind... lol.
