Worst Football Pundit

Since we will most likely be spending the next two whole days watching the rivalry games... who is your least favorite football pundit?

Brent Musberger
Desmond Howard

I can't stand John Saunders. He obviously hates ND and he has no problem letting everyone know it. Oh, and he's from Canada and likes hockey!! Just kidding!!

Desmond didn't have a stellar NFL career, that cannot be argued. However, he did have a legit Super Bowl MVP - which is impressive. As far as this goes, though, Howard can't be the WORST football pundit - although he may be the most unlikeable. I consider "worst" to mean "most inept," and ESPN has plenty of them. In my mind, Corso and Jesse Palmer are both inept in relation to what level they should be at.

When Craig James and Doug Flutie get together, it's usually Irish bashing time--can we go combo on this or do I have to pick one? If it's just one I tend to agree with the Saunders pick. I think Mark May is going for ratings, whereas Saunders seems to really despise everything ND stands for...which is odd as ND almost always takes the high road. I imagine watching Ty (almost) bury the Washington program was painful for him as it limited his "parting shots" segment on The Sports Reporters...

True, true. I forgot about him because I associate him with the draft so much. But you're right, this year, ESPN has him doing much more cfb analyst work. Also, I realize that Lee had a stroke before. I never said I did not like the guy. I actually think he's a good guy and he's enjoyable, but that still does not make me think he's a good analyst. I know he coached at the college level as well. But still, I would just like to see someone on Gameday with knowledge enough to effectively debate with Kirk.

Lundquist will go, "WOW!" after somebody like Tim Tebow or Cam Newton throws a ten yard pass to a wide open receiver.

I have to agree with Bob Davie. He drives me nuts, especially since he is one of our own. Mark May doesn't bother me any more because it is obvious that he is the Mr. Hyde to Lou's Dr. Jeckle. Desmond is just a Michigan man and hates ND, I can respect him for that.

Herbie. Only because he is too full of himself this year. He can never see the forest for the trees.

He makes claims like "Penn State has ZERO chance to win with this walk on QB" like its fact when he doesn't know the kid at all.

Other famous quotes are "Notre Dame has a high school defense" and my new favorite this morning "USC wins because they have athletes on defense." Hello!?!?! Has he seen USC's defense play this year!?!?
