Other than Mich & Ole Miss (JVSU) this year, who are some others choices?

I don't think a FCS team has beaten any ranked D1 teams, aside from UM and VT.

Minnesota, Kansas and Ole Miss also lost to a FCS team this year. I'm sure that there have been others in the past.

I think they are very solid and underrated because of the JMadison debacle. However, I feel they didn't lose so much to James Madison than they lost to Boise St twice in 5 days. It was stupid to schedule a game 5 days after a huge emotional opener against a strong, physical teams. Especially after having your dreams smashed, getting ready to play a lower level team is extremely difficult for kids.

People need to give Boise real credit.

Not only playing Boise on a Monday then JMU on Saturday but the whole "friendship" between Beamer and the JMU head coach. Allowing JMU to scout VT in person over the summer, JMU coaches had what seemed to be pretty broad access to the VT program. Add all that up and you get a pretty lackluster performance against JMU. To his credit though, Beamer manned up and took full responsibility for the loss.

Think Urb or Lane or RRod would have fallen on the grenade like that?

Virginia Tech lost that JMU game in very strange fashions [huge long kick returns with almost no other yardage except one good drive in fourth quarter]. Tech's D-line was the youngest it had been in many years, and even then Bud Foster essentially stopped JMU play after play. Watching the game, it was really the perfect storm. No one should underrate VT at this stage of the season nor take away anything from Boise because of JMU. By the way, the young VT defense is still learning. They allow the opponent to go down the field and score early almost every time. But, as my brother says, "Foster will figure it out", and then here they come and it's over for the other offense.
