Changing of the Guard?

Is it just me or did it really seem as though is was a "handing the torch" game. The freshmen really stepped up to show toughness and make plays (Jackson and Collingsworth) on special teams along with Cierre and Tommy. Ballhawk Blanton stepping up making a huge play, love his swagger, he's helping bring back the ND attitude. The senors did well showing what they could do, too bad its taken so long but today was a really nice moment. Hope Duval can keep it up for the rest of the season which is hopefully extended for them.

Go Irish!

Wins like this inevitably lead to the type of speculation you present. I don't know for sure, but I'm just going to be happy we won at this point. I don't know if we're back, if it was a fluke, or if a torch was handed off--all I know is that we beat a ranked team and got that big upset we needed for the possibility of a bowl invite.

I don't know if it was a changikng of the guard per se, it was definitely a game where some highly touted high school kids and reserve players stepped up and made some big plays for a change. The seniors made big plays and the younger kids made big plays. Good win at the right time. Hopefully this continues the rest of the season.

I've said tis before in other threads sometimes when a team or players are out of sorts there comes a time when things just click. Everything comes together, it's not that you're doing anything different things are just more clear and suddenly easier. The best part about it is that from that point on that is the way you play, I hope this is the case for us. I've played for US Olympic teams, College teams, and semi pro teams and have seen this happen more than once.
