Great blitz pickup.
Great Heart on his runs.
Does need a bit of work on passes though.

He still needs a lot of work on vision. He seems to run into his line every time he carries the football.

He's on his way, but he needs a lot of work.

He needs to work on his patience. He needs to let his blocks develope before he hits that second gear. And obviously he needs to work on his hands out of the backfield.

He has come along since Armando went down. Perhaps the added reps in practice.

This is why he was projected as a safety by many coming out of HS. He just out ran people in HS and never had to really learn how to read blocks and make cuts at that level. He is still learning.

Here is the scouting breakdown from Scout:

Has a good frame and great speed. Elusive with the ball in his hands. Still growing into his body. Productive in all facets. Needs to improve on following his blockers and not improvise as much.

This, but that comes with experience as well.

recruiting class could help Jonas could help and Roberson I think one or more could eventually get moved especially if we get huggins

If we get Savon (which I dont think we will because of his late visit to Rutgers) then I believe they will move Justice Hayes to the slot. He has already said he is willing and he would be a good fit for the position.

Savon is nowhere near committing to anyone according to his father. They are going through all their visits which will take them through the month of January. Expect a decision on NSD. Do you have a link?

Lemming posted something on his fb wall that said he believes Savon will end up in South Bend. Savon "liked" it. Sounds good but Savon could have meant a few different things. Speculation I guess, an we'll see when its all said and done.

If the offensive line can gel and play with some fire (4 starters return next year assuming Dever gets a fifth year, which he undoubtedly will), we could see a great running game as we have outstanding depth at running back.

Jonas looked good too. We'll have a very nice 1, 2 punch next year, which should take some of the pressure off the freshmen.

Seeing how well our last two running back to wide receiver conversions have gone, that wouldn't be a bad idea.

I think Justice will red-shirt his freshman year due to the depth at rb and slot reciever. The slot position should be loaded with Bennett Jackson and Roby Toma behind Theo Riddick. We almost have to many weapons at one spot. We also dont know where Davaris Daniels or George Atkinson will end up, although they project as more of an outside threat because of their build.

If Savon Huggins joins the Irish then I think he will have an immediate impact. He is just that kind of player. With Cierre Wood, Cameron Roberson, and Jonas Gray already there, they would have to move Justice to the slot or red-shirt him.

We're getting to that point where very young guys won't have to burn eligibility. If we don't see most of next year's class on the field, I'll be ecstatic.

Let them sit, lift, and learn the system. That's how big time programs function.

The only players I expect to see on the field next year would be Stephon Tuitt and possibly some of the defensive backs due to lack of depth.

I think ultra talented guys like Matthew Hagerty, George Atkinson, Davaris Daniels, Ben Koyack, and Anthony Rabasa will have the chance to sit back and watch a year. Get some size and strength adjustments and learn the play book.

Now on the other hand, if we added guys like Savon Huggins and Ishaq Williams, or maybe even Wayne Lyons then I wouldn't be suprised if they were on the field making contributions as freshman.
