I would be happy if we got this guy. He has a swagger and attitude that we have not had in a while on offense. If Kelly can control.him I say bring him. One note though. Do not pay attention to his throwing stats. His competition is terrible and the offense they run they do not have any true handoffs. They are all short throws so it inflates his passing numbers considerably.

Um...have you even been to a Kenton game? I've watched Maty for three years now, and not only DO they throw deep passes, but that is one of his strongest attributes. Sure they throw short passes a lot, but when the deep passes come, beware...

Also, one note...Maty will most likely NOT end up at OSU. The Mauk family, from what I understand, doesn't care too much the Bucks after not giving Ben a chance when he was being scouted.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder completed 24 of 46 passes for 586 yards and eight touchdowns, according to the Lima News. Four of his scoring tosses went at least 45 yards. He also ran 15 times for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Mauk, the younger brother of national passing record-holder Ben Mauk, has now completed 317 of 482 this season, for 4,895 yards and 61 touchdowns. Ben's single-season national marks were passing yards (6,540) and attempts (674), and he is No. 2 all-time in completions (413) and touchdown passes (76).

I want him right now.... I don't care about his size or strength of schedule... You don't put those numbers up by accident.

Passing with mobility, a bit undersized but so what Colt McCoy was the same way.

I want Maty.

Those numbers are ridiculous. I also wouldn't worry about his "size", the kid is 16 or 17 years old - he's still growing.

Yes! I have seen him play many times. He is a very great hs player playing against very inferior competetion. Their schedule is very bad. In a scrimmage against all D1 teams his stats were not that good. Now I do know it was only a scrimmage and that plays a part. But his numbers are inflated. How many run plays do they have? Maybe 1 that they use once a game. Every play is a throw. The jailbreak is something they are great at and anyone can throw throw that. They get 10 yds a pop on that. It all goes tonpassing yards.even if it might as well be a hand off. all I am saying is his attitude is not great and his stats are rediculously inflated.

That was a pretty sweet play he made and you just know he got nailed once he released the ball, but the ball was right on target down field. I am really impressed with this kid's scrambling ability and how he buys himself more time to make the play down the field, and if there isn't a play to be made, he is not hesitant to run the ball for huge yardage.

He literally saw the defender running down his throat, making him unable to step into the pass. Yet, he still throws the ball 40 yards laser right on the money.

Something about Maty reminds me of Brett Favre.... which is a good thing... and a little bad. But mostly good lol

We need a big time QB in the next class if we're going to make the spread work. Mauk seems like the perfect fit right now (both in terms of talent and his interest level), but it's still very early in the game for 2012. Let's not focus all our attention on one kid so that we're ruined if we don't get him.

I don't think all of our focus is just on this one kid. It would be great to pick this kid up, but we are also talking about the 2012 class which is a very long way off. I think we need to try and get this kid but at the same time keep all of our options available.

Hes lighting up the playoffs. Has a tough opponent next week for a bid at the semifinals. They play two time defending state champion Alter. In his opening round game he was 21-42 for 537 yards and 7 touchdown passes including 1 rushing to give him a total of 8. In yesterdays game I don't have a passing yard stat but he was 28-43 and had 5 touchdown passes. Also someone was at the opening round game and he was talking about how good he was, I was just kind of listening into two the two guy's conversation. The one kid said something along the lines of if he was going to Ohio State and then no he said I heard he is going to Notre Dame. I don't know where he heard it. Hope that he does though.

Mauk's team lost in the regional finals. They got beat by two time defending state champion Alter 35-32 in a great game. Mauk threw for 386 yards and had 4 touchdown passes and also added another one on the ground. Still not enough. Hell of a run in the playoffs for Mauk.
