LOL! Rock Bottom. ND lost to a Tulsa team who has lost 20 consecutive games against BCS opponents. Shameful to say the least. But I cant say I'm surprised. GO DUCKS!!!

Is it wrong for me to vote for USC, because of NDOM's obsession with the ducks?

Not at all. You should just drop that lame team from South Bend and cheer for a real winner. jk LOL

Don't bring your ND bad luck to the Duck's! They are starting to hand it over to USC as if they were ND!

if they ran a dive(we suck at run offense) and got a yard, then kicked and he missed, you guys would be the same people saying, I don't understand why we didn't toss it down the field 10 yards and then kick, can't win for trying with fickle ND fans. Guys, it sucked we lost, Brian Kelly isn't defined by 1 pass in 1 game, I think you have to judge him by his body of work, and in my opinion, he helped Tommy Reese to become a stud after that dismal showing against Michigan. My biggest fear isn't BK getting fired because of his football coaching, as much as it is about the death of Declan Sullivan.

Uh no... 40 seconds left the game is over with a FG. Run it to the centre of the field 3 times, time out, kick the win. There is no second guessing involved here. It was the flat out wrong decision.

Can we take Bob Davies back as coach? Seasons didn't seem as agonizing when he was coaching.

Hey, the Ducks look great. Being in the Northwest I like to see the Ducks do well. I am 100% Irish. But, the next two teams I vote for outside ND is Oregon and Boise State. My Uncle-In Law was the Dean of Graduate Studies at BSU. Gotta love it.

I am totally pissed about ND. And we have a huge hill to climb. We have to support the guys, and get these recruits to believe in ND and come. So, support the guys!

I will be in Eugene next week to watch the Ducks play my 2nd most hated team (#1 is Michigan) in University of Washington.

What really bums me is I wanted to go the bowl game if ND went to one, my wife and I were going. But, that dream looks to be squashed. Watching USC I don't think we have a chance in you know what. And Utah??? Not with our defense right now. Heck, we couldn't stop Tulsa!! Better beat Army to look respectable, and Huggins will be at the game.

Go Irish, I am totally depressed. At least Michigan and UW lost. My only good things from this weekend.

1. Once again, it's beginning to feel like last year, all over again.

ok, ok, ok I have a toe in the water on this one...still thinking there is hope if we can put a dominant defensive day together, and a merely offensively competent day against Utah...they didn't look especially dominant on D tonight, and O was so, so (Air Force).

2. Congratulations to Tommy Rees. What a great game, for a true freshman thrust into a pivotal game..

I calmed down a little, and am seeing it more that way...would like to know what causes us to go catatonic on offense for Looong stretches, but the kid did ok...not sure what he'll do against Utah and SC, but he showed some flashes.

3. I haven't looked at the stats, but my eyeballs told me that ND's defense was, once again, poor against the run. I don't get this. They have held some very good backs to almost nothing, and then they go out and let others run all over them. Maybe the stats will look better than the eyes, but it seemed like Tulsa was gaining 6 or 7 yards, on every 1st down run.

In general we have some nice plays, even nice series but we still give up waaaay too many big plays, and when it counts, we couldn't cover a guy in a wheelchair (3rd and 26...seriously)

3. I still think that Michael Floyd's production has dropped off, but that's not his fault. The kid is open on almost every single play, and he catches virtually everything within reach. Even after a "down year", don't be surprised if the NFL scouts don't have him going very high in the 1st round of the draft.

...and Rudy, depending on rehab.

4. I want to hear one of two things, from Kelly, in the post game presser: Either A) Something was very wrong with Ruffer's kicking leg, or B) I want to hear him apologize, or at least admit, that his greed cost us a game. You have a true freshman QB in the games, you are well within your FG kicker's range, you are missing 2 of your top 3 pass catchers, and you throw the ball into the end zone? WTF are you thinking?

...and he defiantly said neither. I like taking a shot...I don't like taking a shot given all of those other considerations. But Kelly is going to do it his way...I'm hoping some time before I die that defiant little bastard is holding a NC trophy with Sinatra blaring in the background...I DID IT MY WAY....

5. We can pretty much forget about a bowl game. This team just got blown out by Navy, and then lost to Tulsa. I just can't see how they are going to beat either USC or Utah, to get to 6 wins. And that's assuming that they don't drop the Army game.

Well...I am actually holding out hope that we show up against Utah, and they are banged up and flat after TCU. They beat Air Force tonight...but it wasn't pretty. If Rees can deliver a consistant, even game...and we holster the gun of self inflicted wounds for just one game...we have a shot.

I do see some promise for the future, but I have been seeing little more than promise for the future, for about 10 years now.

Amen...I'm worn out after years of this...I won't apologize for expecting this team to play inspired football, and to win more often than they do...Kelly needs a big win to get these kids to buy in such that they don't lose these nail biters...or maybe just have fewer of them...this has got to stop...

It seems to me that Tommy R brings a little fire that was great (Theisman,Rice,Clemmens McDougal). He was pissed at his 'bad' a few times and the kid did not back down. I liked what I saw there. I knew Tulsa had too much team speed and hate to be correct in saying Notre Dame would not win this game. This team had one thing going for it early-it was game-now after all its been through they look tired. Its understandable but not acceptable. Brian Kelly now sees the mountain that must be climbed-Notre Dame gets everyones best shot and it wears on you. If you are not up to that you will get nailed. This is the caldron of Notre Dame football. The real issue as I have said for 3 years is not a few 4/5 star players , its does the admn want to let in the players it takes to fill a roster and win games. You cant have it both ways and the brand is suffering almost insurmountable setbacks. At this point it is going to take more than the system they are trying to do this with---they need players. When will they ever tire of watching teams say this will be our greatest win then go out and deliver right in Notre Dame's house. I guess the admn has just not seen enough yet. Brian Kelly is a good football coach, Charlie wasnt as bad as people made him out to be. These people they hire to coach are not magic men--- they need players. All you have to do is watch the game and see these guys are just not good enough. There is no way to critic them any deeper than that. If you dont think these guys are giving about as much as they can give you must not be watching the same game I am. Tulsa/Navy/Stanford/Mich/MSU/Utah/soutern cal/ are just better football teams. This is never going to change unless they let more guys in who are football players first who can get an education if they want to. No other big time school in the country is successful doing it any other way. And dont tell me look at Stanford, that is a 'happening' right now that wont be sustained.

This call has to rank among the most unprofessional coaching decisions I've seen in 50 years of watching football (I'm a 64 ND grad). If kelly is a Gaelic name, it must mean Faust

Bwahahaha...now thats funny as hell

and another thing that pisses me off about kelly is that he's never ready w a play...the qb is looking at the sideline and he's got his big *** head buried in the play card looking like he has no ****ing idea what to call...#@$$ &*%$######%^

That's just a function of the pace that his offense plays at. In the short amount of time between plays, Kelly has to evaluate down and distance, the defensive alignment, and his own personnel, and find a play that gives his guys the best chance to succeed. I haven't noticed a plethora of delay of game calls against ND, so they must be handling it ok.
