How would you grade Kelly's coaching debut?

What the heck, it was fun. Teachers and coaches have always been among my favorite people ever, but I did have in mind the ONE bad prof I had who would never give anyone an A, even if they scored 100 on a test.

Hope I didn't insult anyone. That was not my intention.

Not enough body of work imo! But I still say B. A total dismantling would have warranted an A.

I give him an A. Last year was the first time in my life I couldn't stand to watch most the games the whole way thru. At least at no time in this game did I ever get the feeling that the team and the coaches were not trying to win or waiting to see what the other team was going to do before they started trying

It was worth an A for improvement over last year and entertainment value alone.

Like I said above, I was goofing around and egging folks on. I had in mind one specific professor who never gave anyone an A, although that particular prof. had never accomplished much in the topic being taught. Sort of like an Mbechka type. Even pros in the field with more experience than the prof. received a "B". Many of us thought that the prof's main purpose was to actually flunk people out of the program, and at least half of the class did drop midway through the course.

Haha, I'm right there with you. It came into my head that the discussion was getting a little more adversarial than originally intended, but it was all in good fun. Waiting for this next game is going to drive us all crazy, nothing to do but over-analyze everything while we wait.

I would say based upon the product on the field I would award him an A. The team looked well prepared, faster than I had seen them move in recent years, and the defense had a pulse for a change. The No Huddle Spread is much more "offensive genius" than what we had under Charlie "Vanilla NFL Offense" Weis, and we got the W.

In retrospect, I'll give him extra credit for it being Purdue. I hate Purdue.
