I would live to see the team wear green jersys, but I don't think its gonna happen. Are they wearing special unis for the Sept.11 anniversary? I think the coaches are wearing shirts and caps with a red, white, and blue ND.

It wont happen, unless its a night game. Its still appears to be more a family atmosphere at the games. If we could play 1 or 2 nigt games against a major opponent you would see a different crowd.

What does a family atmosphere have to do with wearing a green shirt? I sent in a question to the Coach Kelly Radio show asking him to lead the charge on a "green out" at the stadium on Saturday. Couldn't hurt for others to pose the same question......

If you know someone going to the game, tell them to spread the word. Gold Helmet and Domer Domain need to be spreading the word if they are not already through their websites.

Contact your nearest Alumni Associations.....get the word out! We can make this happen!!!

Yeah Jason, I forgot about that thread and stumbled across it late last night. That said, whether or not it happens, a concerted effort might create the spark for doing it in the future, and I have always been a proponent of this being an regular thing. You see it happen every week at schools like Nebraska, Tennesse, etc., but I also understand that in those cases, that it is one of their primary colors. Green has an obvious affiliation to the Fighting Irish, but is a secondary color to our Blue and Gold.

All the same, I have sent an email to the Alumni Association. GREEN OUT!!!!!!

But I agree with Jason that it prolly ain't happening. I sit in the Alum sections most times I go to the games and there's a good percentage of crotchety old men and proper women who would never put a kelly green t-shirt on over their sweater in a million years*. One of the things about being ND is that your student section is fairly limited (though unmatched in enthusiasm.)

*On the other hand, I also noticed a ton of people being pushed up after ND scored in the non-student sections on the other side of the stadium. Whoever that was (young alumni) might be up for it, BUT I think most of them were only coming out for the first game. This might be a crusade for next year.

i'm just trying to get the old aura back to ND stadium even if it means by new methods. i remember when the crowd at ND actually got a flag for being too loud, that would never happen these days.
