Probably the biggest fall camp surprise thus far.

Shembo, a freshman, is a solid 6'2", 242 pounds (shades of Manti Te'o, who weighed 244 at the beginning of fall camp last season) and can do 22 reps on the 225 bench.

Imagine these two (Te'o, Shembo) two or three years down the road. You could build a defense around that kind of experience in the middle of your linebacker corps. This gets me excited.

Gave a great interview after practice. Looking to improve. Basically following Manti's every step.

The first film that really made me a fan of this kid was the first interview I saw when he committed... definately ND's type of guy, no doubt.

Do you think Te'o will play out his four years here or does his mission or the nfl come into play before then? If not then I think we have a very exciting and hard hitting defense, especially with the recent additions.
Its very exciting to think about what our front seven could look like in the years to come.

Manti said that he will not take his mission during his college career. I dont know if he will stay after his junior year but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Manti has made it clear that the education at Notre Dame was a huge factor in his decision to come here. I'm going out on a thick and sturdy limb here by saying he'll be here at least until he earns that degree.

In an interview, Manti's father said that Manti promised his parents that he would finish school before going to the NFL

what i find interesting is that BK allows the freshmen to actually speak to the media, where as Charlie really didn't, except i think for one day during camp

I think with the amount of time that defenses of Brian Kelly coached teams see the field, we will see a good rotation at lb. I am really interested to see how Kendall Moore turns out this year as well as Prince.

Who says it'll continue through the season?

It has nothing to do with that. He said CW only let them speak one time during fall camp, on a specific date. That is true. From the looks of it, the freshmen will be allowed to speak more during fall camp.

The point is, there is no reason to point out on how Charlie ran his ship to what Kelly does. Charlie is gone, people need to get over it..
