That may be, but Syracuse SUCKED royal ass that year, and App St I believe would have wiped the floor with them. And we lost to Navy 2 damn times (although Navy was damn good this year and almost beat the Rose Bowl champs).

Either way you slice it, we're both bagging on each other for some sorry ass losses, and neither team comes at smelling like roses in the end, no matter how you spin it...

I suppose that's true, I guess Michigan and Notre Dame both have their share of horrid, embarrassing losses over the past few bad years.

Notre Dame: Navy (2), Syracuse, Air Force.

Michigan: Appalachian State, Toledo, A bunch of mediocre Big Ten teams.

How about this, who was worse: 2007 Notre Dame, or 2008 Michigan?

When you have a program as old as ours your going to have tremendous wins, and losses. It just comes with the territory, back in the day either one of our programs would of been the biggest game on an opponents schedule. So while we may not of given it our A game, you can bet they did.

As for which is worse; 2007 ND or 2008 U of M, they both equally sucked. The NCAA say's that our offence was better but your defense was better, regardless, both teams blew goats. Feel free to reminisce here and here.

our helmets don't look like someone puked on them... that's your tie-breaker.

You just said urban was your number 1. He didn't get the name urban liar for no reason

I usually call the Urban Myth "Chinless McGee"... but that's just me.

Rich Rodriguez = DickRod
Jim Tressel = Tweety Sweatervest
Steve Spurrier = Twitch
Pete Carroll = Cheatie McPoodle

Yeah, sometimes I get bored.

Yea I kinda started it. My major dislikeage of Urban Liar came out... Oh and it's about time Michigan scheduled someone

I wanna know when the Weasel Bowl (Kiffin vs DickRod) will be played? Fantastic that both coaches can each get multiple programs investigated by the NCAA in the same year.

I'm mean that's a fine bit o' cheatin' going on there to accomplish that... kind of like a fine vintage of Canei wine.

I have a friend who is a Bama booster. He played basketball for The Tide. He paid about a grand for a Danny Moore print of "The Sack" where Cornelius Bennett nearly dismembered Steve Beuerlein in '86. He has a hugh protrait of Bear Bryant over his fireplace. But whenever I'm over at his place The Bear comes down and Bennett and The Sack goes up in his place to goad me. He let me know he spent the Grand on "The Sack" just to rile me. "What do you think about that?", he asked. I replied politely, "I though you took down Bear Bryant because you were embarassed because he never beat ND." I then added, "You do know ND was only favored once in all those 6 games. Five times you guys managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The one time you did win you chased the coach out of town." I was never asked back for dinner again.

A couple of years ago when Bama AD Mal Moore asked ND to be let out of a contract for a home and home series because of a loss of scholarships. I had the newspaper headline, "Bama asks to back out of ND series" blown up to banner size the length of his fireplace and sent it to him. I guess his thank you card got lost in the mail.

Wow. So your friend has poor taste in art, a lot of discretionary income, a master of delusional excuses (once may be an anomaly, twice a pattern, three times is a trend... five times is an epic smack-down) and an annoying host. Kudos to you for putting up with it.

I love the rebuttal banner though.

I was at the '87 Alabama game in South Bend sitting behind a group of annoying 'Bama fans (are there any other kind?) who kept up a constant repetition of "Roll Tide, Roll" and waiving their prop (an empty box of "Tide" detergent with a roll of toilet paper mounted above it) for most of the game (until it was well out of hand). I think I still have it somewhere with a big footprint on the box after it was stomped on (a good metaphor for what happened to 'Bama that game).

That must be why we scheduled ND for eleventy years...

Don't forget about the scheduling gap between 1943 and 1978.

After the Irish handed Michigan their only loss 35-12 in Ann Arbor during the 1943 season, Michigan AD/Head Coach Fritz Crisler had a hissy fit and refused to schedule Notre Dame. Another "tradition" subsequent Michigan ADs held on to for 35 years.

No kidding... my retinas are still burning from watching that Syracuse debacle.

Also don't forget about the gap between 1910-1941 that they refused to play us to. Kinda makes you think that the series might look a little different if the skunkbears ever had to play one of Knute Rockne or Ara Parseghian's teams doesn't it.

Too true... I was trying to not embarrass our MeatChicken "guests" too much (if that's possible) by bringing that up as well.

That's BGIF's fault for having a friend who went to Bama... one of my students a couple year back had a Dad who went to Bama... the kid was a HUGE Bama fan and always mentioned shit his Dad wanted to say to me...

so in the interest of tolerance I demanded he was shipped to another class... otherwise I would have referred him daily and flunked his hill-billy ass...

Toll Ride.
