Opposing fans

Living in Pittsburgh this kills me, but Pitt fans are the worst. First, they are bandwagon jumpers, second they can't handle success, and third they are classless. The last two trips by ND into Heinz field were so bad, I highly doubt I will ever go back to watch ND play there. They need to F bomb anyone and everyone wearing ND gear regardless of age of handicap was just amazing to me. I watch to older fans with canes get verbally abused. My daughter witness a person in a wheelchair get insults shouted at them. Two point from last years game that support my assessment of Pitt fans. One during the failed drive to take the lead, just before the chop block call, the Pitt fans in our section were besides themselves. My 14 year old daughter states, dad they are still winning and they are talking like they are losing, they want to kill Wanny and just 5 minutes ago they thought he should get the Steelers job! Next upon leaving, a Pitt fan walking behind us was F'ing every person with ND gear on. After 5 minutes I turned and ask if that was all he could say. He responded with a yes. At that point I lost it on him and as my daughter said gave him a verbal beating that earned my applause. I was indifferent towards Pitt until last year, now i want a blow out every time!

Down here in Indy there are a lot of Michigan fans for some odd reason.... Don't really know why but they are always rowdy unless we shut them out early and it kills thier buzz. I hate Purdue fans as well... no reason, I just hate that school..

NYC being the melting pot that it is there are fans for every team here, and the closest big time programs are Rutgers, and Syracuse. If anything NYC and its environs has probably more ND fans than anything. I have never been a victim of any type of abuse by strangers who are fans of other teams, of course maybe they are afraid of what I'd do to them! (thats me on the right next to my buddy ex-Giant Kory Blackwell)  The only ribbing I get is from a couple of co-workers who like Michigan of all teams! :jerkit:

I went to college and worked in the Rochester/Buffalo area for a few years, so I had some interaction with Syracuse fans. Actually my sophmore roomie was from Syracuse. You would think Syracuse was the center of the sports universe the way he would refer to the Orangemen. The Syracuse fans are more entertaining in their delusions than anything. They may have a good basketball program, but that's about it.

The best example I have of a typical Syracuse fan is from last basketball season. At the start of the season people bitched and moaned about the team. They didn't have the star power, Boeheim sucked and so on and so forth. Then they beat UNC and won the preseason NIT. All i heard was Roy Williams sucked and he can't compare to Boeheim and how UNC sucked. Well after a #1 ranking they thought Boeheilm was god and said how much of a genius he was for not having that many stars and focusing on team chemistry.
Then once they got bounched in the NCAA tourney they yet again bitched about Boeheim and how they had no star power and so on and so forth.

Yeah they have a good basketball program, but people up here honestly think its THE BEST. I feel like telling them eff you. Your not UNC, UCLA or Kansas. Your frickin Syracuse. If Carmelo Anothony didn't come to the rescue you'd still be sitting here without a championship.

Oh and don't mention football. They don't know what Syracuse football is untill they beat a mediocre terribly coached 6-6 Notre Dame team.

I'll stop now. I could go on all day about these morons

I actually have no problems with Purdue fans.

They understand they're just considered an "easy game" compared to ND's other opponents.

I have some buddies that went to Purdue for Engineering and they were ND fans.

There are plenty of ND fans at Purdue, because not everyone can get into ND. And Purdue is academically fantastic for a public state school (especially for engineering).

There is definitely not a heated rivalry between ND and Purdue, Purdue fans are more concerned on concentrating their hatred on IU.

Michigan fans are the worst... Then USC "fans" (bandwagonners)... Then Pitt fans.

I'd have to say the worst fan base belong to U$C. I was at the 2004 debacle in LA at the Coliseum, but only made it through 3 quarters due to nausea.

On the way out, I was pushed down two rows by some U$C punk at the game with his wife & kid. I would have dwarf-tossed him to the next section after I got back up, but for the ushers who just stood by (probably would have been arrested).

I still have a divot in my leg from that adventure.

The most ridiculous behavior I've seen over the years is from sitting in the DawgPound at Cleveland Stadium. I was there for the beer bottle & battery chucking contest a couple years ago. Although the most hilarious event was the poor sap with the bad timing to visit the port-o-john after another close Browns loss only to have it tipped over while inside.

Always carry a camera, and retain a good lawyer. That incident reeks of lawsuit my friend! Typical UsC fan. Now you know why california is called the granola state, full of fruits, nuts, and flakes! (the last line was intended for entertainment purposes only, and I apologize if I offended any of our fellow Irish rooters from Cally.)

True... my biggest sin that day was to dare to offend the U$C pansies by wearing an Irish jacket. But being outnumbered 100 to 1 (at best), the odds of winning in that scenario were tenuous. Too many eye-witnesses would have claimed I tripped.

Needless to say, an azz-whuppin' of U$C is loooong overdue! That is the only payback I'm looking for.

Going to an SEC school, i think tennessee fans are the worst. I was at neyland stadium in 2001 when georgia scored to take the lead with about five secounds left in the game. Seriously thought i was going to die that day.
