“I have a bye week which is good, so I can get up to Notre Dame early and not be tired,” Zeke Motta began. “Because these last two official visits I took, I had to get up early Saturday and stay up all day and all night, and wake up early on Sunday. But it’s fun.”

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Motta will travel to South Bend on Friday, ready to take in all of Notre Dame’s weekend football festivities. His father Bill, who happens to be Motta’s defensive coordinator at Vero Beach High and a former Auburn linebacker, will also be making the trip. The two saw the Irish campus together for the first time this summer at a camp where Motta earned his scholarship offer to Notre Dame, and his father worked as a counselor.

“Probably just seeing how the college atmosphere is there, and how I fit in with the players,” Motta said of what he’s going to be looking for on this visit. “And when I was there over the summer, they were out of school so there wasn’t a lot of college life going on. I want to see how that is, and see some of the tradition that everyone thinks so highly of. I’d say also see the game you know.”

Recent news on his update, evidently his official went very well per scout, even going as far as saying he may not take anymore official visits. Come on Zeke, make our Defensive Backfeild solid and sign along the dotted line in February.

Now that he's made it to ND he's already visited everywhere else so that's not a surprise that he might be done with visits.

yes but he has yet to take an official visit to Flordia, which seemed likely after they offered, but after our visit seems a little less likely. Could be good news, take it for what you want.

I hope your right, I just didn't take it that way but I'll gladly, actually overjoyed if I'm wrong.

Mike Farrell had this to say about Motta:

Notre Dame apparently is also the team to beat for linebacker Zeke Motta of Vero Beach (Fla.) High after his official visit to South Bend this past weekend. Motta also has taken official visits to Boston College and Auburn, but Florida might be the biggest threat to Notre Dame. Motta is hoping to take an official visit to Florida soon, then make a decision.

Zeke Motta Is No. 16
by DAN SILVER

For Zeke Motta, the recruiting process was relatively long, but in the end, the decision was not all that difficult.

“My official visit to Notre Dame was just great. The academics are so good, the football program is great and the fan base had so much to do with my trip being so pleasurable for my Dad and me,” Motta said.

“I am going to Notre Dame,” he told BGI on Monday night, following his visit for the Stanford game in which the Irish defeated another school that was high on his list.

Great that he will be an EE. So far it is just him and Stockton that are EE's correct? Any one else planning on EE that we are recruiting?

great pickup here. good timing too. i like seeing some momentum again in recruiting. if our avg number of points per commit holds up, we should be sniffing the top ten by passing UM for the #10 spot on scout.

am i the only one here? i guess i gotta give myself a high-5.

Late to the party, sorry, but HELL YA!!!!

This is so huge!!! (that's what she said)

Anytime you can go into the State of Florida, and steal a guy that any of those schools want, esp Florida, is out-freaking-standing. That's 2 huge commits this week alone.

We're rolling baby. Steamrolling. To steal a line from the great Johnny Cash, "I hear the train a-coming, she's rolling round the (South) bend". ND is comin' baby (that's what she said)...

Awesome pick up! This kid looks like he has a ton of potential.

Any chance he could drop to a backer? Maybe like Kushing for USC?

No matter what position, I am really excited about this kid. Go Irish!!!!!!!
