Pure conspiracy theory here, but I have to wonder if Wujciak committing to Fredo says that the staff feels good about how we stand with some of our other DE/OLB targets.

I wonder if the addition Burton and Councell impacted his decision

I am particularly bummed. I enjoyed the kid. He was always in the back of my mind for his class...

I'd like to think that he chose BC as his second choice but until Lynch pulls the trigger ... Supposedly Rock was told there was no more room.

The quote that ESPN has up as free stuff tends to indicate that to me:

It was a perfect fit, the program, the coaches and the tradition. I really like the people there. I thought my decision would come down to people and it did.

Boston College's program and tradition are the perfect fit? So why did O'Brien leave for NC St or Jags flirt with the NFL? (rhetorical comment)

Compared to ND, BC is "backup" college regardless of a the past 10 years on the field. Those days are over.

But if you read an article written in NJ by Tim McLain with the expanded quote I believe you get a clearer picture of Wojo's decision process:

The 6-3, 250-pound defensive end's other finalists included Notre Dame, where his father, Alan, played, and Maryland, where his brother, Alex, will be a senior linebacker this fall. But Wujciak decided that Boston College suited him best after he visited the school last spring and again last weekend.

"It was a perfect fit, the program, the coaches and the tradition," Wujciak said. "I really like the people there. I thought my decision would come down to people and it did. My recruiting coach for the day was Mike Dawson. He was really cool and I stayed in touch with him. And I really like the recruiting coordinator (Mike Siravo)."

Wujciak's other finalists were Rutgers and Pittsburgh among 10 schools to offer a scholarship. He cannot sign a letter of intent until Feb. 2.

He found plenty of help in the decision-making process.

"I was really choosing my school rather than my dad's and Alex’s school," Wujciak, a West Caldwell resident, said. "And neither one of them put any pressure on me. They both really helped. So did my coach (John Finnegan), the trainer at Seton Hall, Larry Baggit, and my trainer, Don Sellari, at Sports University in Fairfield."

"I was really choosing my school rather than my dad's and Alex’s school,"

The little brother got offers from both dad's school and big brother's school demonstrating he's as good as they were. Now he'll make his mark at a different place.

Grant Irons had two older brothers that played for Nebraska and Michigan. Jarrett was only the 5th Junior Captain in UM history. Grant chose his own school and spurned those other two for ND.
