USC football: Todd McNair no longer on USC's coaching staff | The Fabulous Forum | Los Angeles Times

Todd McNair, who was USC’s running backs coach for the last six seasons and a key figure in the the NCAA’s investigation of the school’s athletic department, is no longer part of the staff.

“Todd McNair’s contract expired on June 30, 2010,” Coach Lane Kiffin said. “We have no additional comment.”

McNair has not been in USC’s coaching offices since the NCAA handed down sanctions against USC that include four years’ probation, a two-year bowl ban and the loss of 30 scholarships over three years.

As part of the sanctions, McNair was forbidden from contacting recruits.

McNair could not immediately be reached for comment.

Na, na, na, na. Hey, hey, hey. Goodbyeee

So the same coach that is in the middle of this whole probation thing that the school is fighting so hard because it is "completely unfair, unwarranted and completely without merit" gets let go??? I thought he (like the school) was innocent SC???

Well, I know a lady in the athletic dept there, and she's always been flawless with her info, even though I'm an ND fan. She told me yesterday that the word is that there will be at least one more transfer before it's all said and done, and probably more than one. That's what she's hearing, but she wouldn't tell me the names of the players. Still makes me smile though!

As Acamp said...fail on, and cheat on!

I think we will start to see a trickle at first, and then the flood gates may open. Both with defections from the 2010 recruiting class and transfers, remembers rats like to jump from a sinking ship.

Really think we will see mora of an affect next year and nationally. Alot of local kids have been in touch with SC as kids so it may be hard to break the connection. I expect at least 3 transfers this year and a down class next year

their next two or three classes will all be down classes just from the loss of scholly's alone.. it's not like they can go out and get the ten best players in the country for the next three years... which is really the only way they make up for the loss of depth...

USC cheating? I graduated in 1969 and lived in Sorin College with many football players. I'm also from Pittsburgh and knew many of the western Pennsylvania players. One night sitting around a Sorin Hall turret room one western Pennsylvania player began to identify all the "dirty" programs --one of those programs was from sunny California ---and not UCLA. He said the NCAA didn't have the courage to challenge a BIG program that might litigate them into the 23rd century. Anyone want to guess what school that was?
He also told an interesting story about how at one midwestern school when the team was watching game films on Monday assistant coach had a big roll of $20.00 which he distributed to players who made outstanding plays. So as Hesburgh stated once is cheating endemic?
