In the past 6 months Vaughters has been busy seeing campuses across the country. Some of his visits include UF, GT, Stanford, and USC.

ND Doesn't Make Vaughters Cut To 9.

ND Doesn't Make Vaughters Cut To 9.

Tech, Georgia make James Vaughters’ cut down to final nine | AJC College Sports Recruiting

2/26

Vaughters’ Nine (alphabetically): ALA UF UGA GT UNC OSU, Southern Cal, Stanford and UTX.

There are a lot of great schools that are not on this list that I like and respect, but I had to narrow my choices. I only hope all of the schools that I have talked to understand how much I appreciate their interest in me. It is something I don’t take for granted.

Detailed comments on each choice at the link.

As yet, no Texas offer, but in his top 9. Texas has commits from two ILBs with an offer already out to Anthony Wallace, too. Texas has 17 verbals with a target of 23.

Vaughters Announces Thursday

Vaughters Announces Thursday

Ten at 10: Dalton OT Watts Dantzler to choose between Auburn, UGA on Sunday | AJC College Sports Recruiting

Another decision coming earlier than expected this week is from Tucker linebacker James Vaughters. He will reveal his choice from an offer list that reached 35 schools at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Rock Hard Fitness in Tucker, where he has trained since he was 13 years old. This 6-foot-2, 235-pound athlete just last month cut his list down to a final five of Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State and Stanford. At the time, Vaughters said he hoped to have a decision “by the end of summer” but added the caveat “if not sooner.”

ND hasn't been in the game for some time.

James Vaughters picks Stanford over UGA, Tech, others | AJC College Sports Recruiting

Chip Towers, AJC

6/17

Tucker linebacker James Vaughters, the most sought-after recruit in Atlanta, committed to Stanford on Thursday. He chose the Cardinal over four other finalists: Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Ohio State.

...

“Stanford University is a long distance from home but they have a beautiful campus, perfect climate, and I feel that they have great opportunities that I can utilize. They are a top academic school that is compared to the Ivy League, but compete in Division I football and a top conference in the Pac-10. They are also making great strides to become a championship caliber football team. Coach Vic Fangio, the new defensive coordinator, runs the 3-4 defense and I feel like he has the experience in the NFL that I will be able to feed off, to hopefully prepare myself for the NFL. They have done well in recruiting recently and improve more and more every year. I believe that they have potential to be great in many aspects.”

Lookout for Stanford!

Good for them. I would much rather have strong rivals that I respect, rather than ones that cheat. (I'm looking at you, U$C)
