Miller to Ohio State was never a secret. I don't really follow recruiting anymore, but even two years ago (his sophomore year) Buckeyes were saying he was a lock.

It's the Buckeyes ...

It's the Buckeyes ...

for touted in-state quarterback Braxton Miller

Bill Hodge On The Trail
Under Armour All-American quarterback Braxton Miller of Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio) has announced his Class of 2011 recruiting decision for Ohio State over Florida.

The ESPNU 150 talent also considered Notre Dame and Alabama as finalists. He is rated No. 2 among quarterbacks and No. 16 nationally among all prospects by ESPNU.

...

He told ESPN's Craig Haubert, "It feels like Springfield or Dayton, that's where I am right now, Columbus feels like home. That's where I can see myself spending my next four years."

Miller (6-foot-1, 185-pounds), who was offered by Ohio State as a freshman, will be expected to replace Terrelle Pryor as quarterback for the Buckeyes ... immediately, if Pryor chooses to enter the NFL Draft after his upcoming junior season (2010) or as a sophomore after playing backup during Pryor's senior season (2011).

As a junior, Miller completed 51-percent of his passes for 1092 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 450 yards and 17 more scores.

He is the cousin of former Buckeye receiver Dee Miller.

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio — The mother of Huber Heights Wayne quarterback Braxton Miller was arrested Thursday, hours after Miller had a news conference to announce he will play football at Ohio State.

Kelly D. Miller, 42, has been charged with assault on a police officer, harassment with a bodily substance and domestic violence, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records.

Kevin Miller, Braxton’s father, said the situation was not serious and that no assault occurred at the family’s home. Kevin said Kelly Miller had an argument with the couple’s daughter that involved some grabbing, and that the family’s older son, Breyon, called 911 to diffuse the situation.

Huber Heights police Sgt. Charles Taylor said officers went to the residence. They transported Kelly Miller to a hospital because of possible psychiatric issues. At the hospital, she threw a punch and spat at an officer, Taylor said. She was then arrested.

Kevin Miller said he considered the argument at the house “just one like any family has.”

Kevin said Braxton Miller, one of the country’s most highly regarded quarterback recruits, was not involved in the situation.

Thats really sad. Sometimes you forget some of these kids have difficult home situations and they have so much pressure on them to make it big in professional sports. It hasn't been a good month for mothers in Ohio.
