Scout is saying he is runnning a 4.37 now. Yikes! Also, ND and OSU are HIgh INterest, every one else is medium. I know I know, we just finished this NSD, and Chris MArtin taught me about not getting excited early, but just thought i should throw it out there

I would be shocked if he and Braxton Miller don't verbal early to O$U.

Scout ranks him as their #2 CB, 4 Stars.

He's been touring campuses in the past 6 months. He's been to South Bend, Columbus, Ann Arbor, and East Lansing among others.

Imant & Rizzo: You guys need to start thinking positively about our chances to get any "11" recruit. If he is also academically gifted and visited the campus, I give us better than a 50-50 chance of getting him.

Hopefully, I'm just worried that corwin leaving, who he really liked, is going to affect this one. Hopefully, BK's staff might est a relationship. I would think it would be Martin who is recruiting him, which would be great, but not sure I would say we have over 50%. I absolutely love this kid, his size and speed make for a top flight CB.

Picked up offers from LSU, PSU, Southern Cal, and West Virginia.

Scout lists him with NO interest in Southern Cal.

His father is a MSU grad.

I am somewhat surprised that he only gained 2 pounds in that one year. Pretty good numbers though.

Dont know for sure, but maybe the previous numbers in '09 weren't actual combine numbers. Might have been from coaches or hs roster, which very often inflate the numbers. That could be one explanation.

Keep in mind this is a Buckeye guru but ... ND ddn't make the Top 8. ND and LSU have been replaced on his earlier list of Top 8 with UNC and WVU.

Doran Grant emerging as a top prospect - ESPN

By Dave Biddle Bucknuts.com Special to ESPN.com

Grant is very interested in Ohio State, and many believe he will end up signing with the Buckeyes.
"I have a good relationship with the coaches at Ohio State," he said. "I talk to [cornerbacks coach Taver] Johnson on a regular basis by e-mail. I also talk to [offensive line coach Jim] Bollman, [safeties coach Paul] Haynes and [head coach Jim] Tressel. We keep a good relationship going and stay in contact with each other pretty often.
"I have a very high interest in Ohio State. I will say that right now: I have a high interest in them. I'm comfortable there, it's a good place to be and they are one of my top schools."
Grant shied away from naming a top five but listed eight schools that he likes the most at this stage.
"These are not in order, but MSU, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, West Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and USC.

Per Bill Hodge's On The Trail

4/6
Top cornerback Doran Grant (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) revealed his top two schools for ESPN affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com. "Ohio State is No. 1. Michigan State is No. 2," said the ESPNU 150 Watch List talent. Penn State, USC, LSU, Michigan, Iowa, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Illinois, Georgia and Georgia Tech among others have also offered. His father was an All-Big Ten receiver for the Spartans in the 1980's. "He feels pretty good about (Ohio State). He's not really pressuring me to go to Michigan State. He knows wherever I go will be the best place for me," Doran stated.

In an interview with GoBlueWolverines, he was asked if he had any favorites, and at first he said no, but then he went ahead and named his top 7:

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan State
3. Michigan
4. West Virginia
5. USC
6. Penn State
7. Georgia Tech

Said that OSU's coaching staff and him being comfortable because he's been up there so much are the reasons he likes them so much.

Mentioned 8 schools in the interview (aside from his top 7, says he's looking for a Miami offer), and never mentioned Notre Dame. He said things could change, but I'd say the book is pretty much closed on Grant as far as ND goes...

That's depressing. Though I kinda figured this one for little while now. I just wish we could score some big time DB's especially corners.

It's not new news but what I heard a while back was that he very much liked ND but that it was a grade thing and had no interest in busting his ass to get into ND when his grades will be fine with 99% of the other schools he's interested in.

Take what I said with at least a grain of salt as I don't have a track record with the person that told me this but it's what I heard some months back so I thought I would let you guys know what I've heard.
