YouTube - El mariachi loco

I like the song, but video might take on the same heat that the latest ND song has taken. If you ever go to Mexico or happen to be in a restaurant that features traveling Mariachis, request that song. Lots of fun and genuine. Likes me some Mariachis.

Cinco de Mayo seems to be more celebrated in the U.S. than in Mexico.

Cinco de Mayo was a regional battle at Puebla against the French.

Mejico's "Independence Day" is el diesiseis de Septiembre against Spain. Mejicanos al Grito de Guerra.

What does Cinco De Mayo mean in English?... "Oh shit, here they go again."

Go where? Work harder than you in order to survive? Mejicanos are not the "problem". Thinking the "problem" comes from further south. Or L.A. Or U.S.A use of stuff.

Blame blame blame.

Can of worms.

How did a Cinco de Mayo thread become a race relations thread?

Oops, probably my bad, but not intended. I was watching a movie about Pocahontas and John Smith when I read your post about Cinco de Mayo, so my noggin shifted from east to west. After speaking with many folk in this area, I have found that many of the Spanish speakers are from Central or South America. Of course my "sample study" does not have an "n" large enough to qualify for anything valid, but what the heck...

ACamp likes green jello.

I've heard it as "panocha," but who's counting...

There is a town in central Cali called Panoche. I drove with some family past that town one time and they all cracked up when they saw the sign on I-5, "Panoche, next left."

Did you mean "jotito?" But who's counting...

No, I turned reindeer. It's a job. Puts food on the table. Keeps GoIrish!!! and Wabash and ACamp away from my mother for another day.

I'm thinking a lot of Spanish spelling is urban. As is English.

"Donde estas" is often spelled and spoken "On tas"

Kinda fun to play with the language. It is a dynamic thingy.

Apparently more static than dynamic with the way you're correcting me, BGIF Neutered...
