The shirt should ALWAYS be green. Age old debate. You can keep the unis blue and gold, but our fans should be adorned in KELLY green. A unifying color does help enhance a home-field advantage. No doubt about it.

Great decision!!!

A great friend on FB bought me one. I'm just stunned. I posted in hopes one of my brothers would get it for my birthday, but my friend beat them to it. You don't find friends like that every day.

That's the type of green that will stand out in the stadium. It looks like I will be wearing the shirt again this year instead of a jersey. At least for September before it starts to get cold.

I still firmly believe they need to stick with the same color every year so after four years everybody pretty much has the same color in the stands. A sea of kelly green is better than splotches of kelly green, forest green, piss yellow, dark blue, and white.

Makes sense to everybody but the guys marketing The Shirt program. They want you to buy a new one every year for the scholarship $$$. They intentionally want to apply peer pressure on those wearing last year's model.

I agree with the Sea of Green. In '02 I went to the FSU game in Tallahassee. There was a horde of a thousand or more GREEN clad Irish fans that marched into their stadium chanting "HERE COME THE IRISH!"

FSU fans were impressed. One turned to me and asked, "WHO ARE YOU FOR?" I was wearing a Blue & Gold Jersey.

When the game was over the entire ND section marched out en masse chanting, "HERE COME THE IRISH!" Those Nole fans that hadn't already departed the stadium early, parted like Red Sea to let the Chosen People pass. It was awesome.

I like Green Jerseys on the team like Leahy's Lads wore but I like the Irish fans in a Sea of Green even more.

I think a majority of people would buy them every year still, or however many years in between they would normally. I think more people would be apt to buy the same color than switching colors. I would still buy one every year personally.

I thought it was Edwards as well, the last great ND fullback. But, I've read it's Jim Flanigan after the '93 FSU win. It was a SI cover photo.

Ah, my bad. Awesome nonetheless.

Marc Edwards!!!! AHHHh awesome

Is that Marc Edwards or Jim Flannigan? I agree, I think it's Jim Flanngian. I probably knew him better than any other football player when my sister went to ND. He's a great, great guy.

It's Jimmy Flanigan for sure. It is an old SI cover. Couldn't be happier about it being from Green Bay and having the opportunity to meet him a couple times. He is a terrific guy and loves ND!

Excited to wear my shirt today! It's perfect, because it is green, cool, yet simple. The quotes are not some cryptic line from an ancient song - they are ones that at least everyone will know.

Me too, for the scholarship fund. I've got a closet full of them but most of them I only wear to mow the grass.

My "game" shirt is green with the lone word, IRISH, emblazoned across the front.

They could use that shirt as a baseline and add a new slogan and graphic WITH THE YEAR, each year. I agree people would buy them and we'd avoid some putrid colors that shouldn't even be in a box of crayons.

I love the fact that The Shirt is back to green also. They really need to keep it the same color, they are going to sell reguardless. I mean, 25000 shirts sold before anyone even had an idea what it would look like.

Isn't that the game Anaz Battle did the tomahawk slice?

I guess it was. I think the green jersey lost their luster. Now the whole stadium covered in green would be cool.

Keep those cursed jerseys away. Last time they wore them I was rushing the field during (using that term loosely) the USC game in '05. Anger sharks are still swimming.

I did get to stand next to Stephen A Smith for a few minutes. He muttered "this is a whole bunch of bullshit." We shared a nod.
