Per ISD:

His mother want to ND Law and she is a federal judge. He grew up an Irish fan.

I would say if we offer, he is Irish. Plus his mom made it a law.

Article in Rivals where he talks about going to about 3 ND games a year growing up.

He has great size.

Projected as an OT by both Rivals and Scout.

Recently went to Michigan Jr Day with his parents

Tony is up over 260 right now, and training hard. This young man is an animal. Both he and Remound Wright did very well at the Army combine last month. Tony is very very good, and will just get bigger and better. From what I understand, has heard verylittle from ND at this point. He is every bit as good on offense as he is on Defense. Hopefully Goody and Eifert will get in Kelly's ear and get he and Wright an offer. Both would be Irish, and both will be a force in college.
Very strong ND family.
I simply can't believe the offers have not come yet. Bishop Dwenger is a very solid program, and turns out solid players every year. Keep the BD pipline open!!!!!!!!!!!

GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tony has picked up a Pac-10 offer. Not sure who it is yet but saw it mentioned on Rivals. I hope ND warms up to him soon. They are missing out on one hell of a player.

Springmann hasn't heard from the new ND staff. Apparently coming to Jr Day on his own initiative.

That is a bit surprising and disappointing to hear. He will open some eyes this weekend. With the staff coming in at this stage of the game, they have undoubtedly been slammed with their initial targets. If they are looking for quicker and more mobile linemen, they will see one in Tony this weekend.
I know that his team mate Wright was contacted and invited to Jr. Day, but has had no other contact with staff.

Then he needs to get after this weekend and let the irish staff know he's for real and that he definitely warrants an offer. Wish him well from those here at IrishEnvy. Keep us updated...

Will do. I would think that by watching his film they could figure that out!! They will want him at at least 280, and he is not there yet. From all reports, he was really good in San Antonio at the AA Combine, hence all of his offers. Long process, but they could at least let him know that they are aware he exists. In fairness to staff, they are as busy as anyone could imagine right now and giving love to those they had targeted.

Whether he's a OT or a DE both areas of need, he faces a numbers game with ND offering more than half a dozen prospects at each of those positions. He was at ND's Jr Day but didn't pick up an offer. He's another one that seems to need a camp visit or great senior season to earn an offer.

That seems to be the case with Tony. Nothing wrong with needing to earn your offer. I am looking forward to watching him with 30 or 40 more pounds of muscle on his frame.

It appears Tony has removed ND from his schools of interest at both Scout and ESPN.
Must be no love coming from the Irish.

Nice. ND is looking very good with several outstanding OL, and it looks like we'll probably only take 3, maybe 4. Springman has to have some outstanding camps or have an outstanding senior year, and then he'll get the love from the big time schools. Maybe then he'll be one of the 'chosen'...

Looks like there is a nice article on Tony at Scout about Jr. Day. Appears he was happy with the visit. I don't have a subscription but it looks positive so I hope he does come to camp and earn a spot. Word is he is up to 265 already. His body fat was very low to start with, so he should be very solid.

Scout gives him 4 Stars and ranks him #17 OT. That's right behind ND Offered OT Brendon Auston at #16 ahead Watts Dantzler, Aundry Walker, and Jay Whitemire. ND Verbal Jordan Prestwood is at #12 while Brey Cook is #7, Connor Hanratty is #9, and Matt Hegarty is #10.

Springmann's got some serious competition at OT for an ND offer. Maybe camp or a great senior campaign will do it for him. While he's only a Jr he's at the bottom end of the scale with the lightest OT's ND has offered.

Thanks for the updates on the 2 Dwenger Kids. Tony will continue to climb the charts as he adds muscle. He is on target to hit his goal of 280+ by the start of the season. As good as he was last season at 240, he should really be a force with the extra 40 or so lbs. of muscle.
