1-Is it true Clellands moving to defensive side of the ball?

2-Whats going on with Jonas Gray? I heard he may have been suspended or kicked off the team?

3-Will Slaughter be playing corner or safety?

For number 2, unless not being able to carry the ball is a punishable offense, I haven't heard or seen anything.

That is dissapointing about Jonas Gray I liked him as a running back
I could see Clelland as a DE but we need offensive lineman the D line is getting better

1. Reports say yes.

2. There are some reports that he got into academic trouble, and some irresponsible journalist said he was off the team. Not true. He's still in school and he's still on the team. Nobody is really sure if he got in trouble or not.

3. Not sure.

I have a few questions of my own

1. How have the work outs been?
2. Hows Nate Montana Looked?
3. Is Manti ILB or OLB?
4. Who is our best DB?
5. Why havent we gon after any of the IN prospects?

I want to see how good of shape they are in
Nate Montana will more than likely be a non factor
Manti will probably be an IL because he is the most versatile
I would probably guess that Darin Walls will be our best DB
We can probably recruit better in Ohio plus IN is not usually the best football state

IN isn't the best football state but every year we have at least 3 through 4 really good players that end up going else were like morgan newton, darren evans the great rb from virginia tech that was supposed to compete for the heisman this year untill he got injured, last year james hurst roderick smith and BLAKE LUEDERS, and this year there is Armonze Daniel OLB,S,CB 6'4" 215 runs a 4.45 forty thats considering georgia and this is from ISD.

It's not often that an SEC school holds the favorite title for a recruit from Indiana, but Georgia fits that mold for Armonze Daniel, 6-5, 225, Avon, Ind. Why? His brother plays for the Bulldogs and Armonze originally hails from Alabama. Daniel's frame spells rush backer for the 3-4 defense that coach Kelly will install this next spring.

Good point we need to secure our own state These are essential. I dont think that Blake Lueders decided to not go to Notre Dame because we coudnt recruit him well enough, but I think he might have felt safer at Stanford

Harrison Smith,Filer,Hughes

Harrison Smith,Filer,Hughes

My 3 questions are these studs for next year, how motivated and placed in a position to win are they, when I saw these guys sign at Notre Dame I said cant miss and big talent players. If these 3 players do what they are capable of it will be a sign the team is ready. This factor is what I'm hoping Kelly can bring out as all three of these good players and good guys have underacheived. Smith has the ability to be a great player and Hughes should be a large contributor, Filer must get comfortable somewhere and throw his 240 lbs at the ball carrier and or QB. In my opinion these guys are yardsticks to see the sense of urgency developed this year. Hughes running downhill and Smith using those decathlete skills must happen, its time.

Hayseed needs to relearn the Safety position. You can be the best athlete in the world but if your not in position to make a play then your no good to the team.

Filer needs to find a position, whether it is MLB, OLB, or DE. He should have been redshirted but lack of talent forced him into special teams. Another great athlete but Fleming is a better OLB at this point and Brian Smith brings experience and leadership (hopefully he can tackle too now).

Hughes is probably hurt the most by the new staff because he could of been converted to FB with Weis if he got passed up on the depth chart but his style doesnt seem to fit Kelly's offense like Allen, Riddick, or Wood

agreed...also, I think Allen is going to do some eye-popping things this year.

A switch clicked in HI, and he seemed to start to run downhill a little more...and he was a little tougher to bring down

...During the season he had some dandy runs, I saw a pretty shifty back, with really quick feet, and improving vision...and he was still running downhill, and continued to be tough for one guy to bring down.

He stays healthy and he will hurt folks badly

A switch may have clicked in HI but that wasn't the difference between his '08 and '09 seasons. In the off season he built up his legs considerably, he had much greater leg strength in '09 and thus stayed on his feet longer when hit.

...now that you mention it, remember that coming up in the commentary in one of the games...lets hope he is doing more of the same...because whatever it was translated to some visible improvement on the field...

I have a few questions:

1. With the 3-4, will Kerry Neal go back to linebacker for good? Or will he remain at defensive end? Personally, I thought Neal was much, much better at linebacker than at end.

2. Will Harrison Smith be a LB?

1. Not sure on Neal, but I'd imagine so. He's far too light to be a DE in a 3-4.

2. Harrison Smith, from what I gather, will be a safety again.
