Teammate of '10 ND Signee Christian Lombard.

Camped at ND last year.

Will be at ND Jr Day.

Rivals lists him as a TE while Scout and Rivals have him at OT. He's gained 20 pounds since last summer. ESPN lists him at 6-4 243 while he was measured at the US Army National Combine last month at 6-5 262. He also attended PU's Jr Day last month.

3/4 per Bill Kurelic, ESPN
Jack Konopka (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) is drawing interest from recruiters for his play on both sides of the ball. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Konopka has been a varsity starter at tight end and defensive end since the beginning of his sophomore season.

"I'm being recruited as a tight end, a defensive lineman and an offensive lineman," Konopka said. "I prefer to play tight end, but I'll play any position really."

Konopka is building a nice list of scholarship offers. Purdue, Illinois, Boston College, Ball State and Bowling Green have offered Konopka.

Notre Dame Football - Konopka Visiting Irish On Junior Day

by Lorenzo Reyes

3/19

Jack Konopka is coming to ND's Jr Day looking for a offer - at any position.

He's played TE and OL but Chuck Martin is telling him ND sees defense in his future. That's OK with Konopka if it means he has a shot to compete to get on the field.

More at the Link.

OT Konopka To NW

OT Konopka To NW

Per Bill Hodge's On The Trail
7/21
6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle Jack Konopka of Fremd (Palatine, Ill.), has made his Class of 2011 decision for the Big Ten Wildcats.

The three-star prospect chose Northwestern over Purdue. Among his other offers were Arizona, Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Oregon, Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green and Duke.

Konopka is the 11th commitment for the Wildcats.

This is another OT who would have jumped at an ND offer. Kelly must believe ND has a good shot yet out there.
